Desperate

Numbness fills a mind
As agony claws at a soul
Screaming, tearing
Threatening to tear the being
Who holds the pain
Apart

“If onlys” replace the numbness
But the clawing remains
Focusing, intensifying
Both the physical and mental
Hurt of losing
A loved one.

Finally all seems quiet
A mourning replacing the agony
Searching blindly
Desperate for the one
Who departed
In cherry blossoms
