Wishing Upon A Star

What are they trying to do on Ally McBeal???? I sobbed for the last half hour!

They killed off Billy?!? I knew he was leaving the show, but I figured they’d take him through the rest of the season and get rid of him during the May sweeps. But they killed him TONIGHT!!

I was totally unprepared for this and almost didn’t watch the show because I had started watching the Audrey Hepburn movie. If I had missed this episode I would have flipped out to discover what had happened.

I’m serious when I say I sobbed from the time he collapsed in the courtroom through the funeral. I was just not prepared for this. Of course I would have cried even if I had been prepared – afterall I cry at supermarket openings – but this whapped me out of nowhere.

I really cried when Ally lied to Georgia and told her that Billy’s last words had been "Tell Georgia I love her". It was a nice touch.

I bet Billy haunts Ally for the rest of the season.

While I’m on the topic of television I think that the Audrey Hepburn movie was really well done. Jennifer Love Hewitt did a great job and I thought the movie was very charming. Of course I missed most of the middle while I watched Ally.

Why is it that on those rare nights that there is something worth watching on television there are two worthwhile shows scheduled against each other? I hate that. Especially because there are so many lousy shows out there.

I didn’t make it all the way through the Oscars last night. I fell asleep somewhere around the time that Warren Beatty started his speech. That show runs far too long.

Billy Crystal is incredibly clever. I love his parodies and his quickness with the jokes when something happens spontaneously.

I liked some of the dresses. I found the ones that covered up the cleavage and left something to the imagination to be the most elegant. I hated Cameron Diaz, for example. I thought Cher looked great, Lucy Liu, Nicole Kidman, and Hilary Swank to name a few. And what’s with the hair? Half of these women looked as if they’d been caught in a wind tunnel.

I prefer class and elegance.

I thought the funniest thing was when they lost control of the fog machine and Isaac Hayes was lost in a haze.

Robin Williams and "Blame Canada" was pretty funny as well. Although I was glad that Phil Collins won the award.

I was disappointed that Haley Joel Osment didn’t win, but you know, I wasn’t surprised. I didn’t give a hoot about the rest.

The Tony Awards will be far more entertaining.
