Growing up, Charlotte Rae claims she wanted to be a star just so she would feel like she fit in. To that end she moved to New York City where she met and eventually married composer John Strauss. During her early years she rubbed elbows with other young actors such as Paul Lynde, Uncle Arthur from Bewitched, and Cloris Leachman, her one-time NYC roommate who would later replace her on The Facts of Life.

Rae's early work includes regular roles as Silvia Schnauser on Car 54, Where Are You? and Molly the Mail Lady on Sesame Street. She also co-starred in the Emmy-winning TV movie Queen of the Stardust Ballroom. But her most famous role was as Edna Garrett, originally introduced as the Drummonds' housekeeper in Diff'rent Strokes, and then the Eastland School housemother/nutritionist in the spinoff The Facts of Life.

In March of 1998, she had a guest appearance on the CBS series 'Michael Hayes'. She was in the 1999 tv movie Crime in Connecticut: The Story of Alex Kelly and was in the 2000 tv movie Another Woman's Husband.

When the show began filming, Fields was so short that the producers put Tootie in roller skates to avoid difficult camera angles. Ironically, she had lost a role on Diff'rent Strokes because she was too tall to play Gary Coleman's girlfriend.

She graduated from Pepperdine University in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in communications and film film. In addition to acting and directing, Kim taught at an acting school. At Pepperdine, she started her own production company specializing in Christian themes, Victory Entertainment Inc.

She was cast in hit shows like Starsky and Hutch, The Love Boat, Alice and, of course, The Facts of Life. McKeon's amazing ability to cry on cue as Jo Polniaczek on The Facts of Life won her the nickname her "Faucet Face" from her cast mates.

After The Facts of Life was cancelled, Nancy made several guest appearances on television series and hosted Friday Night Videos opposite Michael Damian (whom she dated). McKeon is now best known for an impressive list of made-for-TV movies.

Her most recent acting credit is an October 1999 episode of Touched by an Angel.

At one time, she dated Michael J. Fox and later Luc Robitaille - a NHL hockey player.

Lifetime is airing Intimate Portrait: Nancy McKeon on 1/5/01 at 7-8PM Eastern.

She will be starring in a new one hour drama on Lifetime called The Division (originally called City Limits) on 1/7 at 9-10PM Eastern.

'The Division" explores the complex lives of five very different female detectives working together in the Central Station of the San Francisco Police Department. Because of the diverse nature of SF, these women face an endless array of cases, from inner city homicides to white collar crime in the Financial District.
Stars Bonnie Bedelia, Nancy McKeon, Lisa Vidal, Lela Rochon-Fuqua and Tracey Needham. (Nancy's character is named Ginny Ecstead).

Nancy currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

From the Daily News on 10/25/00 - New Horizons: Nancy McKeon, who has spent most of her life before the cameras, as tomboy Jo on "The Facts of Life," the star of CBS' 1995 "Can't Hurry Love," and dozens of TV movies, is now earning plaudits as a director. Her "A Wakening," which she wrote and helmed, won both the Best First Short Film and the Audience Award for Best Drama at Florida's Marco Island Film Festival this month, honors she never expected it to receive.

"It's my very first attempt at directing," she says. "I financed it myself, and it never would have been made except for the love and efforts of some remarkable people who worked for free. We shot in my aunt's house in Queens, N.Y., and some of my relatives worked as extras." Even her Beverly Hills hair stylist, the very hot Phil Ackerman, flew to New York to do everyone's hair during production, paying his own expenses and air fare. With the drama, about a young boy at the Irish wake of his grandfather, who was his best friend, getting such attention, interest is already being generated in its purchase."

He is the youngest of the Cassidy brothers and, as he has been known to point out, the one few people know about or remember. He is often placed into context with brothers David (half-brother), Shaun and Patrick or parents Shirley Jones and the late Jack Cassidy, all of whom have had long, successful careers in film, television, theater and the recording industry.

At first Ryan was unswayed by the lure of show business and considered a career in law enforcement. However, after graduating from Beverly Hills High School in 1984, he embarked on an acting career that lasted through the late '80s. During this time, he appeared in the Lionel Ritchie music video "Penny Lover", the NBC sitcom "The Facts of Life" in the sixth season as Kevin Metcalf (a role designed around Ryan himself) and as Jake Hittman in an episode of the short-lived CBS series "Jesse Hawkes". He left show business in the '90s and pursued different avenues, finally settling on work behind the scenes. In the spring of 2000, Ryan decided to actively re-establish himself as an actor and is pursuing more dramatic roles.
