Halloween Foosball News 'N Notes

Its that time of the year again!!

The Seventh Annual Halloween Foosball Tournament will be coming your way from Lowell, Massachusetts on Saturday Night October 26th, 2002. As has been the case since the 2000 edition, this website is the source for all the news and information concerning the tournament.

First, some basic housekeeping issues. I realize the website hasn't been updated since the 2001 tournament. Over the next couple weeks, expect full results to finally be published as well as updates to all the "Meet the Players" section, things of that nature. You can also count on a ton of polls and stuff...I'm planning on brining back the Virtual Halloween Foosball Tournament and also creating a random page of polls. I encourage everyone to sign the damn Halloween Foosball guestbook as well and talk some trash there about who you think is going to win it it all in 2002.

We also already have an essay up by one of last years' finalists. I explain why I should have beaten Greg in the finals last year. You can find that in the Latest News section.

Now onto some news: A longer commute will not prevent James Ostis or Greg Ouellette from attending the annual Halloween Foosball megaevent. With both of last year's finalist spending their weekdays in Boston, MA, there may have been some questions as to if the tournament would even survive. Fear not. There is no chance in hell, either one of us would miss it.

Speaking of Greg, over the summer, the Halloween Foosball Committee decided that his sister, Gina would be banned from using the video camera at the Tournament or the football game. That one year ban is still going to happen. Gina will be allowed to attend and compete, but the constant bickering over who gets to use the camera will come to an end this year....as well as the lying that accompanied it last year.

1998 & 2000 champion, Corey "Humperdink" Pinkham will be joining Bartlett Fantasy Hockey this year. Bartlett Fantasy Sports is up and running once again, which is great news. They are also an official sponsor of the Halloween Foosball Tournament. It goes without saying that Corey will also be attending this year's tournament and trying to avenge his worst perfomance to date in 2001.

More changes to the ranking systems? Certain members of the Halloween Foosball Committee are considering making major changes to the Halloween Foosball Tournament ranking systems in 2002. The changes are to be even bigger than the ones made last year with the creation of the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon ranking system. The CTHD complimented the Gregpoll and the Julia Goolia Ranking System. More on that later in another edition of the Halloween Foosball News and Notes.

The Mr. Cyrs and the Yackadoodles may resume their rivalry once again this year. Negotiations have yet to begin as to the specifics concerning the game, but members of the Mr. Cyrs were seen practicing passing drills over the weekend in the backyard. Corey also hopes to have a bigger role this year after being forced to only play center last year due to injury.

Steve "oh dissed" Angel Nales today in a discussion about the HFT. As we tried to recall the matches of last year's tournament, I asked if he remembered how well Angel did in the 2001 tournament. "I'm just guessing he lost because he sucks." OH DIS!

That is it for this edition of the Halloween Foosball News 'N Notes. Check back at the website for all the news you'd ever need about the Halloween Foosball Tournament. There will be another News N Notes tomorrow.
