Halloween Foosball Website reaches 500 hits!

Since this website was created in October, 2000, it has been a center for all the players and fans of the Halloween Foosball Tournament. Considering this site has usually only been updated during the month of October, this number is quite an achievement. The fact is, the site had probably already reached 500 before Steve accessed the website earlier tonight, however, because the counter has been located on the first page as opposed to the main page which was created in 2001. Often times people skip the original page, which would affect the counter. Nonetheless, it is something the Halloween Foosball Committee is very proud of.

Steve also made news in another fashion tonight. Commenting on the announced return of James Higson, Steve said: "my former cut man, Higson....(he) was fired for not showing his support at the 2001 tournament." Steve also took shots at the mystery competitor and, of course, Angel. "I'm going to go shopping for a mystery cut man, whos a better cut man than the mystery person foosball player" and later, "you know who should be ranked #16? Angel. cuz he sucks!"

With a lot of homework and studying for midterms on the horizon, Jim hopes he can dedicate the amount of time needed to the preparation of the Halloween Foosball Tournament. "School is an unfortunate distraction, but I'll be able to overcome it. It won't be easy, but I should be able to." It is the large amount of schoolwork that has caused delays on things such as the website, however better time management should be able to fix it. "I will find time to concentrate more on both schoolwork and the tournament by managing time better."

Recently added to the website, here is a link to view JGRSIII Standings and Win-Loss records. The statistics and records portion of the site should be up and running soon. Also, I advise everyone to check out the 2002 Preview section. There isn't much there right now, but, there is what has been called by more than one individual "The hardest poll ever." Vote in it, it won't be easy.

Speaking of polls, Nicky Ostis changed his mind. Although not pressured by anyone, Nick decided that he'd rather vote for Ben Affleck than Snoop Dogg. While this practice of changing votes is not encouraged, an exception was made this time. The decision to switch his pick resulted in a two-vote swing, giving Affleck at the time a 7-6 lead. The voting in the first round of the Celebrity Tournament ends at 11:59 PM Saturday Night. Also, the voting in the first round of the regular Virtual Halloween Foosball Tournament is expected to begin sometime Friday afternoon.
