The Doubles Halloween Foosball Tournament faces an uncertain future, but Jim for one, wants to see it continue. Last year was the first such tournament and it was won by the team of Steven Ostis and Corey Pinkham. Although the tournament didn't run perfectly smoothly last year, it is expected to be brought back for a second go around, however that hasn't been confirmed by the Halloween Foosball Committee yet.

Speaking of the Doubles tournament, its likely Greg will be searching for a new partner this year. Last year Greg was teamed with Lena Mendonca. For reasons unrelated to foosball, Lena is not expected to be in attendence at this year's event. Could Greg and Jim form Dream Team II? Its a possibility, but as of now, no talks have been made. Jim also points out that he made it to the finals with his partner from last year, Angel.

More news about Greg. Is he looking past this year's tournament? More specificially is he getting way ahead of himself discussing the 2005 Halloween Foosball Tournament. "Well it will be interesting when we turn 21, a new chapter will definitely be turned in foosball." Jim will not directly comment on Greg's statement, however. "My mind is on 2002, and on foosball. Sounds to me that Greg's mind is on something else--something that can be found in bottles and cans"

Will James Higson make a foosball comeback? Well as of now, he hasn't decided, of if he has, he isn't talking. The most influential 0-2 person in Foosball history missed last year's extravaganza due to a dance in Dracut. When asked about a return, he would only say "Maybe." Higson's most famous moment came when he threw goldfish at Corey during the 1999 finals. Many consider Higson's interference the reason Corey lost to Steve that night. Corey showed that he still hadn't forgotten about that episode at last year's tournament, when he taunted Higson through the camera. "Higson, I got your shorts" Corey said.

Coming soon to the website in the 2002 Preview section will be a list of all the people who are expected to attend this year's tournament. Already confirmed are James Ostis, Steven Ostis, Greg Ouellette, Corey "Humperdink" Pinkham, and Nicholas Ostis. Plenty of others are "all but confirmed" to be there.

Jim also offers this tidbit. "I know of someone who've I talked to. He/She has been practicing a lot and has made great strides as far as foosball ability is concerned. This 'Mystery person' has great potential to shock some people later this month. I'm talking Final Four ability"

As you know, there's always been a sort of central theme to the Halloween Foosball Tournament each year. 1998 will be remembered for Corey Pinkham's debut and Nicky's Cindarella story, but besides that, everywhere you looked there was something relating to "A Night at the Roxbury" one of the greatest movies of alltime--Even the invitations featured pictures of Doug Butabi and Steve Butabi (Are those two brothers? Nooo....YESSS!) Greg remarked in 1999 "Are we going with a Rocky theme this year?" when music from that hit movie was used during entrances. And last year was a sort of bizzarre tribute to America with George W. Bush and Bill Clinton running around and even a playing of the Star Spangled Banner before the finals. These are always sort of "unofficial" themes, of course, but let's just say I have a feeling the influence of Tony Soprano and his family will be noticed on October the 26th.
