Halloween Foosball News 'N Notes

Not an overwhelming amount of news on the eve of the Halloween Foosball Tournament. Angel has proposed a replacement for The Big Game, now that Weather.com is predicting a 90% chance of rain. Just like Wilson before him, Angel is suggesting a Madden 2003 Tournament. The only twist is Angel wants each of the 8 Bartlett Fantasy Football Owners to compete in a Madden tournament with each team's Fantasy roster.

The Republicans, however, will be without their owner however as Patrick Casserly will not be able to the 2002 Halloween Foosball Tournament. Patrick, who has been trying to arrange transportation from UMass Amherst to Lowell for this weekend confirmed it this evening. To make matters worse, he also lost in the VHFT to Jim, who will take on Nicky in the finals tomorrow.

Jim beat Patrick in the semi-finals of the 2002 Virtual Halloween Foosball Tournament 3-1, as for the second year in a row voter turnout got lower in the later rounds. Nicky beat Wilson by the same total. In the Celebrity Tournament a few more people voted, James Gandolfini defeated Jimmy Fallon 9-1. Larry David made it an all HBO final beating SpongeBob SquarePants 4-2. (How there is a four vote difference, I have no idea). You can vote online until 11:59 Saturday, as well as vote in person at the Halloween Foosball Tournament.

The Trophies/Circular Pieces of Wood for 2002 have been created and they, like all before them are unique. However, unlike years prior, the 2002 CPOW are colorful. In addition to black, there are little bits of orange throughout the trophies that will be awarded to the 2002 Halloween Foosball Tournament& Doubles Champions. The Singles trophy, besides the color addition, is very traditional, although it includes the statement: "A New Era of Foosball" referring to the new Foosball Table that is being used for the first time tomorrow.

Greg has come out of hiding, sort of. The 2001 Champion who was supposedly at a Halloween Party for his fratenity. While Jim (or anyone) still hasn't directly talked to Greg since earlier this week, Greg did offer his predictions for the 2002 Tournament which will be posted tomorrow morning. He will allegedly arrive at the HFT site early tomorrow morning at which time, much business will need to be discussed.

Steve was beaten badly with pillows and couch cushions by his brothers and cousins including 1997 HFT competitor, Amanda on Friday evening, however he doesn't believe he has any long term injuries that will affect his foosball playing.

Steve was also among the listeners at the debut of the Halloween Foosball Soundtrack Vol 2. The new music CD includes such hits as The Sopranos Theme, Jammin', and the longest version of Gonna Fly Now ever recorded. It also includes theme songs of two people that won't be at the 2002 Tournament (unless they are the "mystery person") Dale and Hakmeng. It also includes "Oh Dis" songs for Greg and Keith.

One last update before the tournament will be posted tomorrow morning/afternoon.
