Halloween Foosball News 'N Notes

Lots of weekend news and notes so let's get started.

First of all, the Halloween Foosball World is still shocked at the news that one of the great ones will not attend this year's tournament. You can read about it in detail here

Also an update on the "Voting War" situation. In case you missed it, thanks to the "heroic" last minute voting of some great members of the Foosball World, Steve has beaten Wilson in their much disputed second round match in the Online Halloween Foosball Tournament. Jim, who got votes from Phontip, Joey Higson, and Donald Greenwood in the late night hours of Friday after the LHS/CHS game, said he just simply "beat Wilson at his own game". Wilson has refused comment and hasn't spoken to Jim or the HFC since saturday's news of his defeat. This whole scenario also be detailed in its own section coming soon.

The HFC chaiman has agreed to lift its disbarrment of Wilson "if he stops acting like that". Wilson is now currently banned for life from practicing Law in the Halloween Foosball Court due to unethical practices. Wilson of course was the key lawyer in

While hopefully the Voting War may be cooling down(would that make it a Cold War? Certainly seems like that now), there is one thing in particular about next Saturday that is really heating up!

The Big Game (presented by Bartlett Fantasy Sports) (aka Angel's Football Game) is really starting to take shape. The rosters set up has been determined to be a game of Greg and Angel's team vs. Jim and Steve's team. As part of the agreement that allowed the two most dominating football players on the same team, The Jim/Steve team will get to pick the first three players in the draft. Later on in the draft the Greg/Angel team (rumored to be called the Greg/Angel Yackadoodles) will get to even the rosters off.

Also of note, the rules for this Big Game are likely to be a very interesting aspect of it. For one thing, the XFL's legacy will definitely live on this Saturday. Rules adopted from Vince McMahon's former league include the scramble for the ball, one point conversions, A live ball off punts, cameras in the huddle, and of course, the Red and Black football. Then there's other rules that have never been seen before, such as "No Farting". The game will also be more similar to real football, as opposed to the "standard for pick up games" that Greg spoke of the other night. Jim was quoted as saying "This ain't no damn pick up game. This is a year in the making, this is bigger then the Super Bowl!" First downs will be...every ten yards. Not two completions, or two five yard gains. It may not seem innovative, but with chains, and a running clock, this game is going to be awesome.

Not convinced yet? Here's the latest hot rumor concerning the game. Goal Posts!! Thats right, Toys 'R Us is selling these little kids goal posts for $30, and reportedly the Halloween Foosball Committee is seriously considering buying one for the game. It would be 8 feet tall and would add a whole other aspect to this crazy ass game.

That "crazy ass game" will also have its own page up soon. Its been promised before, but with all the rules and also the news of players who will be in it or will not, now it is absolutely necessary!

Of course, as was mentioned before, The Virtual Online Halloween Foosball Tournament is now in the third round.  The Celebrity and Bartlett Teacherseditions are also both in the "Elite Eight" round so go on over and vote if you have any business voting there. If you just want to stuff the ballots for one person and you don't know anyone else. Well the Halloween Foosball Committee reserves the right to reject said votes. But for the most of you, lets do this, and Wed. we begin The Final Four.

Lots more news as the week goes by. (I'd have had more today, but unfortuanately, I lost it all and had to type this again...) But anyways I'll be back tomorrow with even more so make sure you check that out.
