Halloween Foosball Tournament accomplishments
In 2000, Angel made one of the most bizzarre challenges in tournament history. Entering that year's Tournament with a very good 2-2 record, Angel had achieved a pretty good seeding and was poised to face Gina in the first round. However, Angel instead requested to take on eventual champion, Corey Pinkham instead. The Halloween Foosball Committee and Corey approved the switch, and Angel was promptly shut out by "Humperdink".
Angel's other claims to fame during the 2000 Halloween festivities were his role in the Humperdink trial and his annual promotion of the Halloween Football game.
In the Humperdink trial, Angel was known as the Honorable Judge Nales. He served the court well, although he refused to wear the robe and he also abruptly ended the trial when he got sick of it and said Corey was not guilty.
As for football, Angel tried to organize the big game, however, it was his own lateness that ended up leading to the cancellation of the game. Rumors are he is fighting hard to bring the game back in 2001.
The "Big Pimp" as Angel is known, had never been eliminated in the first round until 2000. He held victories over Keith in 1998 and a match of the year candidate victory over the Day Care Champion Chris in 1999. That match is believed to have the biggest size difference in tournament history. In both 98 and 99, Angel went on to face Jim in the 2nd round, with Angel losing both times. In both games (considering the tournament is held in October), Jim has represented the Boston Red Sox and their fans against the Big Pimp, who is a Yankee fan. Jim won, but survived a scare in 98 where Pat's interference called for the first ever lengthy time out and ejection, it also marked the only time two opponents chased someone in the middle of a match. The Halloween Foosball Tournament used to be held in the Barn, a place that must bring back great memories for Angel, because it was in the Barn, that Angel smashed and broke a baseball bat over Patrick Casserly's head.
In 2001, Angel was the catalyst of a new tradition. He is one of the people most responsible for The Big Football Game. Angel also went to the finals of the first ever doubles tournament last year, when Angel teamed up with longtime Foosball & Fantasy Sports rival, Jim. That tandem defeated the Casserly brothers and Nicky & Kyle before losing to Steve & Corey in the finals. Overall, Angel was 3-2 in foosball on October 27, 2001. He defeated Kyle in the first round of the tournament before losing in the second round to Steve.
