Halloween Foosball Tournament accomplishments
James Higson's impact on the Halloween Foosball Tournament hasn't come when he was playing. In fact, his on-the-field contributions have been rather minimal, two first round losses (to Nicky in 2000, and to Pat!?! in 1999). But when it gets to the finals, thats when Higson shines.
James's sister Heather was at the Halloween Foosball Tournament in 1997, when Patrick insulted all the cats in the world, but she didn't play the role that James did. fastforward back to 1999, James Higson faces, guess who, Patrick. Higson did the unbelievable....lost to Patrick, costing millions of Vegas betters a ton of money. Jim Ostis was especially disappointed after claiming James Higson had a very talented name. Want some more irony? Patrick went on to face Corey....fastforward to the semi-finals, the two other Bartlett School class of Y2K students involved in the tournament, Steve and Corey, advanced to the finals. James Higson shows his support for Steven, and joins Team Steve, which also includes Steve's tariner (and semi-final opponent) Greg. James would serve as Steve's cut-man for the championship match. It was there that James Higson became an infamous name in the Halloween Foosball Torunament, because it was him that threw Goldfish repeatedly at Corey, and allowed Steven to claim his first championship. After the match, James Higson called Steven "the man", Greg called himself "the man", and Corey called James Higson "f****n james, man, he's a f*****n b***h".
In 2000, James Higson played a smaller role but was still there in support of Steve in the finals. Joey Higson, his brother entered the tournament in that year and dominated Greg for awhile before losing.
The 2001 Halloween Foosball Tournament was to have been first time Higson had to interact with his at the time rival, then-Emerald Lake Lucky Duckies General Manager, Lena. Higson who served as the Team's President and Lena had been entangled in a battle for control of the ELLD franchise which got pretty heated at several points. As of now, things have cooled off, but most likely haven't been resolved. Higson did not attend last year's tournament (His excuse: A Dance being held in Dracut), and some wondered if he missed the event because he was afraid of Lena. In any event, Lena won't be back in 2002, but Higson will....and who knows what he will be up to next?
rivals:
Corey: The Goldfish episode will not be forgotten...COrey places all the blame of his loss squarely on James Higson's shoulders. Corey got a measure of revenge last year when he bragged to his rival, "Higson, I got your shorts"
versus record:
vs. Pat 0-1
vs. Nicky 0-1
