@SPORTS

>Basketball<

I learned playing basketball when I was in Prep. In Don Bosco Sta. Mesa, I started shooting some balls to the ring, even though almost all of my shots are too short. My love for basketball has grown since then.

I started joining the Intramurals in Grade 4. Then in Grade 6, I went for a try out for the varsity team of Don Bosco Mandaluyong. Luckily, I qualified for the team. I felt the core of basketbell training during practices. I go home late during Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and I was so tired.

I enrolled for the Don Bosco Youth Camp in First Year. The trainees in the particular program was candidated for basketball varsity in the next year. Since my body can no longer tolerate the tiredness and stress I feel during practices, I decided not to join.

I have joined many leagues. During summer, I spend my time playing basketball at Palmera Homes II Subdivision in Taytay.

>Football<

I started playing football when I was in Third Year. During that year, most of my classmates and I play football during lunch. I enjoyed the sport, even though it was a very physical game.

I planned to join the Summer Youth Camp in football. It was then that I was struck with pneumonia... Goodbye Football. anymore.

>Chess<

I learned to play chess out of my own curiosity. I read books regarding it, and I found the sport interesting and challenging.

It was at that time that I found myself too busy in buying Chess programs and playing it. Although I can't beat most of my computer opponents, I learn a lot from playing with them.

>Bowling<

I learned to play bowling from my Mom. She was a player of the Budget Department in the Mayor's Cup these past years.

Every time she went to the Marketplace to practice and play, I go with her.

>Billiard<

Oh... the hobby of Class 470. We love playing billiard, and we love loving it. Does that say all?

@COMPUTERS

When I was in Second Year High School, my aunt sent me a computer from the United States. But it was an obsolete one. It was an old 286 system with only 2 Megabytes of RAM.

Still, I am grateful for it. I find it useful by using GeoWorks as a word processor in typing my assignments. I also started studying and learning Wordstar and Dbase III. I borrowed a lot of books regarding MS-DOS. I even bought programs that wouldn't run on my computer without me knowing the problem.

A year later, our system was upgraded to 386 DX-2 with 4 Megs of RAM. I was so happy. I find using Windows 3.11 fascinating.

I was so curious about my computer. One time, I tried to dismantle it and looked at the parts inside my CPU. "O men, this is bullshit! I want to learn more!"

My uncle taught me the basics of computer hardware and software. He taught me how to connect serial buses, put memory in their slots, and configure the CMOS. He also taught me how to deal with viruses.

I started upgrading the parts of my system, although the upgrading was not that fast since the money came from my own pocket. I bought a 486 DX-4 motherboard at the price of P1,200. I also bought a 600-Meg hard disk costing P600. I bought my first soundcard at Olduz. It costs P315. Then I started buying more memory, ugrading my system from 4 Meg RAM to 16.

Last October 1999, our Mom upgraded our PC. She bought us an AMD K6-2 400 Mhz microprocessor on an Apollo motherboard. She also bought 32 MB of RAM. I was that damn happy. With our new motherboard, everything would be just fine, except some, and except for others.

@GUITAR

During the summer of 1997, I was with my cousins in Ridgemont Executive Village. My cousins were very good in playing the guitar. I was fascinated with it so I asked them to teach me.

My Mom bought me my first guitar. Although I found it hard to learn at first, I was able to play some easy songs.

I continued practicing and playing songs for years. Now, I enjoy being the guitarist of our masses in school.

[school]

I started to go to school when I was 5 years old. I studied Kindergarten at 'Mary The Queen' located on Boni Avenue. I studied from Prep to Grade 4 in Don Bosco Sta. Mesa. Then in Grade 5, I transferred to Don Bosco Mandaluyong. It was here that I graduated elementary. Until now, I am at DBTC.

@OFDonBosco

I love studying at Don Bosco. I thank my parents for enrolling me in this school, although the tuition fees were not that low.

Sisters, faculty teachers, non-teaching personnels, friends, classmates, and schoolmates at Don Bosco Sta. Mesa make me feel at home there. It was there where my virtue's foundations were formed. Everyone was so kind, so friendly. I can't keep longing those memories where I find myself playing in its playgrounds, eating in its canteens, studying in its classrooms, and wandering in its halls.

Quality, responsibility, management, skills, values, and creativity...that's what Don Bosco Mandaluyong has taught me. Being a technical school, Don Bosco's standard of education makes its students competitive ones.
