"Hi", hand across, "lo", hand down. Two levels. The two "Hi-lo's" are a fourth apart. This pitch structure helps develop good relative pitch. A preschool teacher or parent can do these hand-signs with the recording with a little practice. Playing is Track 29. Track 27 is the song shown below, but we could not get the sound clip to work. Anyway, try both melodies. Notice precisely on the staff where the "Hi" and the "lo" occur at the two levels for track 27. Then listen and try to imitate track 29 with the hand signs. The rhythm is the same for both tracks. At the higher level, the Hi and lo are "space" notes. At the lower level, the Hi and the low are "line" notes. Move the hand signs up and down at different heights to represent the two "Hi-lo's".
