Chapter 9: Tears

Jennifer was running down the hall as fast as she could, crying hysterically, she couldn't believe what she had just done, what she let happen. JC happened to be in the hall but she just ran past him. He looked over to see Justin standing in the hallway with a look he could not describe. He ran over to Justin and threw him against the wall with all his might.

"What the heck did you do to her!" He demanded.

"I..I dunnoI just.." He trailed off still very confused and worried.

"Did you sleep with her!?!?" JC asked with anger in his eyes.

"No, I mean we almost did, shouldn't I go after her or something!" Justin yelled.

"Oh shit! She is probably scared to death right now! You better stay here I think you've done enough. I'll go after her!

~* On the Beach *~

Jennifer was still running across the beach with hot tears streaming down her face through the dark night. It had started raining and she thought she was hearing someone call to her from behind but kept running. All of a sudden JC jumped on her and held her tight while she tried to pull away from him.

"Jennifer calm down!" He said still wrestling with her.

"Get off me! Just let go!" She yelled through her tears. She was trying so hard to get away from him that he finally just let go and she got up and started running for the rocks at the end of the beach.

When Jennifer got there she just sat down in the pouring rain wondering how she was ever going to forgive herself for what she had just done. Before she knew it she was throwing up everything she had ate that day.

~ Two hours later ~

It was around 1 am in the morning when Jennifer finally thought she had cried all she could. She got up to stand but she had nothing left in her body because of all the throwing up she had down and just collapsed off the rock she was standing on and into the sand. Her drenched cold body lay limp for a second when JC who had been standing a few feet behind her ran over to her and scooped her up out of the sand.

"Oh gosh JenniferYou're shivering. I'm gonna take you upstairs to my room." He whispered with concern clouding his face.

He carried her across the beach and up to his room, he could still hear the faint sound of sobs coming from her all the way up. When he walked into his room he lay her down on his extra bed and covered her up but as soon as he laid her down she got up and ran to the bathroom. He walked over to her rubbing her back while she sat on the floor her head dangling over the toilet. "Oh my gosh JC, what am I gonna do?" Jen sighed while her body still trembled.

"You got to stop this, everything is going to turn out ok." JC tried to reassure her.

"No.no, not this time." She said sniffling. All through the night she tossed and turned. JC thought he heard her get up a couple times though guessing she was sick again from the coughs he heard coming from the bathroom. That morning he didn't wake her up because it sounded like she had finally fell asleep. Seeing as though it was Saturday they didn't have dance practice that day anyway. Around 10 am Jennifer was finally starting to wake up. At first she thought last night was all just a dream but when she realized that it wasn't she started feeling that familiar sick feeling washing over her. Just then she rolled over to see JC staring into her eyes asking how she was feeling.

"What am I gonna do about JustinI can't even look at him now." She said tears beginning to flood her eyes.

"I think you need to talk to himwell when you're ready that is. He does deserve some kind of explanation. Look, I'm going to go down to the beach unless you need me to stay here with you. Justin has been down there since sunrise and he's wondering what the heck happened with his girlfriend last night so when you're ready I think you should come down."

"JC..do you know everything that happened last night?" Jen asked.

"Yes, Justin told me." JC replied walking out the door.

After JC walked out, Jennifer just laid there until she felt that she could get up. She took a good long hot shower and threw on a pair of shorts and a tank top. She started thinking about what she was going to say to Justin when she felt sick again and ran back into the bathroom. 'I can't go on like this' Jen thought to her self. She stood up and looked into the mirror. She stared hard at the red puffy eyes staring back at her. 'What have you done to yourself ' the reflection seemed to say. She pulled her curls up into a pony tail before walking out down to the beach.

~ On the Beach ~

Jennifer looked with sadness when she saw Justin sitting a few feet in front of her with his legs up against his chest staring off at the sun. She hoped with all her heart that he wouldn't hate her for running out on him last night. She took a deep breath and wiped a tear off her cheek before she walked over to him. "Justin." She said a little shaky.

"Do you know how worried I've been wondering why the heck my girlfriend ran out on me in the middle of the night?" Justin said still looking straight ahead. " I didn't even know what to think." He finally stood up and looked into her eyes. " What happened last night Jen?" He asked. Noticing her downward glance he lifted her chin so he could find some answers in her puffy red eyes.

" Justin I'm so sorry about last night, I wasn'tI wasn't ready for what I was doing and It scared me so much that I was going so far. I have never been that far with a guy and I didn't think I ever would be and it really scared me because it was like I was a completely different person, I didn't know who I was." Jennifer explained to him stopping every few moments to let out some sniffles.

"Are you a virgin?!" He gasped "Yes" Jen said her voice barely above a whisper.

"I had no idea, why didn't you say something to me, you could have told me and this never would have happened."

"I wanted to tell you but I just didn't want you to think I was just some kind of kid or something. But the thing is its not that I just wasn't ready. I..I want to keep my virginity and.and I thought you would break up with me if I told you! And now I'm suffering anyway because I didn't tell youI'm sick and every time I think about what I did I don't know how I'm going to get through this and then I just"

But Justin cut her off before she was finished and wrapped her tightly in a hug when she just broke down crying. "Jennifer, I would never break up with you because of something like that. I..I love you. And as for you getting past this, you will. I just feel so guilty now that I've done this to you. I should have asked you or something. I am so sorry, I really am." He said feeling a little choked up himself.

"No, no you shouldn't feel sorry. Its my fault, I brought this on myself and now I have to deal with it." Jen said squeezing his hand.

"But you don't have to deal with it yourself, I am here and I'll help you. Never feel like your alone Jen, I'll always be here for you." He told her hoping he would fill her with faith that she could go on. Just then one of the guys yelled out to him that they were going to eat.

"Go ahead." Jen told him

"Aren't you coming?" Justin asked.

"I'm not really feeling that well, I'll be fine, you just go." She told him.

"Oh ok, I'll be back in about an hour, try, try hard to keep those eyes dry." He said kissing her briefly on the cheek.

After he left Jennifer began to walk down the beach by the water's edge. Somehow she knew that things would never be the same with her and Justin and that made her sad that she let this happen to herself. She was forgetting whom she was, which angered her even worse and then once again the tears began to rush down her cheeks. All of a sudden a volleyball came flying towards her and rolled to her feet. She looked over to see Nick Carter running over to the ball. So she quickly turned away, she couldn't let him see her like this.

"Well, we meet" He trailed off seeing her tear-stained face. "Are you ok?"

"Ummyeah I'm fine," She said wiping off the tears from under her eyes.

"Welluh do you want to join our game?" He offered.

"No thanks." She said giving him a weak smile.

"Ya know, you still owe me for that ride, so how bout a game tomorrow?" He said giving her the puppy dog look.

"Sure I guess." She said not knowing how else to get rid of him at the time.

"Well, meet me down here around 10 am." He said giving her a quick smile before he jogged back to his game.

She thought she might as well do some things to take her mind off her problems and his smile was just too cute to let down. Anyway Justin would be gone all day tomorrow at a management meeting so she would be alone for a whole day and right now, that was definitely not something she wanted to do.
