Bilbo first went on an adventure with Gandalf the Grey and a group of thirteen Dwarves. The purpose of this adventure was to travel to the Lonely Mountain to beat the evil dragon Smaug, claim the dragons horde and reinstate Thorin Oakenshield as king under the mountain.
While on this adventure the group had cause to pass under the Misty Mountans. While here Bilbo met the creature Gollum and became the bearer of the One Ring Of Power though he did not know that it was.
The ring gave to Bilbo unnatural long life, however the evil of the ring twisted Bilbo's soul.
Bilbo now plans to return to the Lonely Mountain to finish his boook;
There and Back Again, A hobbits Tale By Bilbo Baggins.
He has left the one ring in the possesion of his favourite nephew Frodo who must destroy it to rid the world of evil forever.
