Boromir is the eldest son of Denethor, Steward of Gondor, the southern realm of Middle-earth, which is being beleaguered by the forces of the Dark Lord, Sauron,. Having traveled to Rivendell to speak at the Council of Elrond on behalf of his people, Boromir becomes a member of the Fellowship. Though noble and heroic, Boromir has a fatal flaw, he is human, and more susceptible to the power of the Ring. Boromir has a very clear opinion about wanting to use the Ring to help his people, but little does he know the Ring would end up using him. Before his death Boromir sees what the Ring is and who Aragorn is to become.
