• Released on CD to wide critical acclaim and screams of “Halleluiah” across the land...
• Since its release, it has sold over 15, 000 copies and that’s not including the copies sold at gigs!

• Japanese version of the album featured all the lyrics in Japanese in the booklet!

Sadly, this wonderful little album has gone out of print and is fast disappearing from suppliers due to the high demand. Copies still appear on ebay though and on places like opalmusic.com, gemm.com and netsounds.com but it’s getting harder and harder to find a copy! And that’s just the UK Version! – A Japanese copy of the album can set you back about £40 and they have been out of print for a long time! This version had all of the lyrics written in Japanese too making it very collectable! Also, Japanese CDs all seem to have far superior sound quality than CDs released anywhere else too so there’s another reason for finding one!

Facts:

• Released as a Limited Edition CD of 1000 copies
• A “live taster” for the “Stampax” album
• All tracks were recorded live on the “Hymns For Strange Children Tour” 2000
• The single quickly sold out and is very hard to find!

As only 1000 copies of this CD were pressed, the CD is becoming increasingly rare! Very few retailers have the single in stock so it looks like ebay is the only option and places like gemm.com for those of you who don’t have it!

This mouth-wateringly rare single was only released in limited quantities across Europe and is so rare that some have died of multiple heart attacks when they have stumbled across one. This version of the single was never released in the UK either which only makes it even more collectable and it holds the crown for the rarest Rachel Stamp import too! And I should win an award for the most use of the word “rare” on the same page...

• Released on CD and Limited Edition 7” Vinyl of 1000 copies
• Released a few months after the European version to wide critical acclaim, gaining the once prestigious title of “Single Of The Week” in Kerrang!
• Promo single also available and came with a little biography about the band
• Promo video was also made but rarely shown on TV
• Features two left over tracks from the “Stampax” album – a raw live recording of “Black Cherry” and a cover of Johnny Kidd and The Pirates classic – “Please Don’t Touch”

Facts:

• Originally issues as an “Internet Only and Mail Order” release that was only available through the Official Rachel Stamp Website and wasn’t issued to stores as a single CD until late September 2002.
• Only released on CD
• Originally intended to be a live recording of just one gig on the “Hymns For Strange Children Tour” 2000, but due to the fans demand for more rare material, the band recorded lots more gigs for the album.
• The live album also features an original take on Bad Company’s “Feel Like Makin’ Love”
• Mixed by Max Bisgrove (whose previous credits include David Bowie & Iggy Pop)

This album was only originally released through Mail Order and was quite hard to obtain, as it was Limited Edition. It was surprisingly re-released though at the end of September, two years after its original release without much more than a whisper on various fan sites (including this one) and was probably only re-released to end the contract with Cruisin’ Records as it would be the last release through that label. But aside from that, it’s quite easy to obtain nowadays and can be found on many Internet shopping sites and in local record shops!

• The last release through Cruisin’ Records and for a long time, the only way to get a copy of “Stampax” if you were one of the unfortunate few without Internet access.

Since it was a strictly limited edition release with only 1500 copies made, this double cd set is rare! Not only does it feature the best version of “Hymns For Strange Children” with much better artwork, but it also features “Stampax” too! But since it’s so rare, you have more chance of witnessing the resurrection of Jesus Christ than you do of finding it in your local HMV...

• This was to be the band’s first double A-Side single
• The record company decided not to release it though, so it remains under lock and key...
• The single featured the Radio Edit of “Do Me In…” found on the CDR above and live favourite – “Home Made Sex Change”, which later appeared on the Official Rachel Stamp site for fans to download. The instrumental track - “Roll Up, Roll Up, Come See the Death Of A Band” though, remains unreleased.
• A promo video (featuring Robin Guy) was also made for “Do Me In...” but that too remains unreleased...
• The CDR was also quickly withdrawn from radio stations before the single's planned release date.
• Thanx and Spanks to Will Crewdson for sending in the single's cover and info!

• This version of the album also features a brand new album mix of “Do Me In Once…” and the rare Radio Edit version, previously only obtainable on the scarce CDR Acetate.
• The album was released to wide critical acclaim and even got the thumbs up from highly praised producer, Bob Ezrin (who has worked with KISS, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd and Jane’s Addiction among others…)

It has never been released in the UK which instantly made it a collectable for UK fans and the fact that it features a new mix of “Do Me In…” had many fans salivating like a fat slag at a free pie bake off. • Due to the limited pressing of the earlier stateside release of “Oceans Of Venus”, this new version was released through Underground Inc./Captiva and distributed across America by Caroline Records.
• Originally planned to be a 12-track version of the earlier US release but due to another artist using similar artwork, Vania Zouravilov and David Ryder-Prangley drew up this brand new artwork from scratch.
• This new version of the album was released to co-inside with the band’s inclusion on the United II Tour across America.
• The tracks that had previously been added to “Oceans Of Venus” had been removed as “it was not the album we had made, and although "My Sweet Rose" and "Heroine" are fabulous songs (which is why they were added), the album is only proper without.” – David Ryder-Prangley, 2003
• This release is also exclusive to the USA, although many have been imported to the UK.
