Hi Everyone! We made it! We are finally here! I know it goes without saying, but it was a very loooong flight!
to the Springfield Airport
First we flew a short flight to Minneapolis/St. Paul. The airport was huge! We had a 6 hour layover so we really got to check everything out.
Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport We met another couple there from our travel group and had lunch with them before the 12 hour flight to Tokyo. For me, the highlight of that flight was flying over Alaska (photo to come)... It was mountainous and snow-covered. It was beautiful! When we got to Tokyo our flight was a little late and we had half an hour to get to the other end of the airport so we were hurrying to the gate. I felt a little like we were on "The Amazing Race", especially since Kyle and I accidently wore matching clothes. However, when we finally got to our gate the flight was delayed. That was okay, though, because we were in no hurry to get on another airplane just yet! We met several other adopting couples while we were waiting, some from our adoption agency and some with other agencies. Our flight to Beijing held many of the 19 adopting families in our group. That flight was on an Airbus. It was very nice.
I'm doing my homework! There were TV screens in front of every seat with lots of selections of movies. That was exciting for Sydney.
We slept very little during the flight so we've had maybe 3 hours of sleep during the last 28 hours and we are ready to get some sleep. We'll write again tomorrow. Enjoy the pictures!
Love,
