Home (a sonnet )
A place where I can leave the world behind
And go to be by myself all alone
Forests next to rivers alongside I
Where I can go to cry or laugh or moan.
A country away yet you have my heart
You bring to mind family and friends
Your love pierces my soul like a dart
Shattered friendships and hearts there do mend
You are an essential piece of myself
Always standing so far way I cannot reach
My feelings of longing I have to shelf
I feel I must myself, this, teach.
As long as you represent home to me
So long lives you, the one true love of me.
