In the State of Washington the citizens voted to legalize marijuana usage, through the Initiative 502. Which makes it legal for adults 21 and over to possess up to an ounce of marijuana. The new law will take effect December 6th, 2012. Here is a link to the official Seattle Guide to the law: MarijWhatNow.

A Poem I like... THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN by Waler D. Wintle IF YOU THINK YOU ARE BEATEN, YOU ARE IF YOU THINK YOU DARE NOT, YOU DON’T IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO WIN BUT YOU THINK YOU CAN’T IT’S ALMOST A CINCH YOU WON’T IF YOU THINK YOU’LL LOSE ,YOU’RE LOST FOR OUT IN THE WORLD WE FIND, SUCCESS BEGINS WITH A FELLOW’S WILL, ITS ALL IN THE STATE OF MIND IF YOU THINK YOUR OUTCLASSED, YOU ARE YOU’VE GOT TO THINK HIGH TO RISE YOU’VE GOT TO BE SURE OF YOURSELF BEFORE YOU CAN EVER WIN A PRIZE. LIFE’S BATTLES DON’T ALWAYS GO TO THE STRONGER OR THE FASTER MAN, BUT SOONER OR LATER, THE MAN WHO WINS IS THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN. |
I heard a leading Senate Republican saying that he opposes the next stimulus package and that "they" are throwing around numbers like it is paper. I'm wondering if this same Senator objected at all to the TRILLIONS that their President spent, money from nowhere, that bankrupted this country? I don't think so!!! They sat back and voted for their President as he spent a budget SURPLUS and created the biggest budget deficit EVER. Did I say ever, I meant EVER. Republicans suck. They voted for every program Bush wanted and now they are justifying blocking help to real people. Do they love their corporate buddies more then we the people, YES. I say through the bums out. They are hiding behind wanting tax cuts and bullshit excuses. Notice that the Republicans have no other strategy other then to be negative. Let's get this country going again, you Republicans followed a MORON like George W. Bush, well now we have a really smart guy as President, why not listen and follow, you idiots! |
More proof that there are alternatives and there are smart people out there making it happen: Hybrid Electric Technology exists, there is something better then what Detroit is offering!!! AFS Trinity website in the Seattle area.

I knew it was possible:
SINGAPORE -- Physicists in Singapore have succeeded in creating the first paper battery that generates electricity from urine. This new battery will be the perfect power source for cheap, disposable healthcare test-kits for diseases such as diabetes. Led by Dr Ki Bang Lee, a research team at Singapore's Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN) have developed a paper battery that is small, cheap to fabricate, and which ingeniously uses the fluid being tested (urine) as the power source for the device doing the testing. The battery unit is made from a layer of paper that is steeped in copper chloride (CuCl) and sandwiched between strips of magnesium and copper. This "sandwich" is then held in place by being laminated, which involves passing the battery unit between a pair of transparent plastic films through a heating roller at 120ºC. To activate the battery, a drop of urine is added and soaks through the sandwiched filter paper. The chemicals dissolve and react to produce electricity. The magnesium layer acts as the anode, losing its electrons. And the copper chloride acts as the cathode, mopping up the electrons. The final product has dimensions of 60 mm x 30 mm, and a thickness of just 1 mm (a little bit smaller than a credit card). Using 0.2 ml of urine, they generated a voltage of around 1.5 V with a corresponding maximum power of 1.5 mW. They also found that the battery performances (such as voltage, power or duration) may be designed or adjusted by changing the geometry or materials used. The battery is currently suited for use with disposable devices - it is not yet ready to power laptops or iPods.
A change in the weather. A change in time. I really had to laugh when I heard this rhyme. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks to all of you that are committed to lifting others and oneself!
