After the events of September 11, 2001, many of us Canadians felt a deep sense of needing to do something. I built my web page soon after this horrible attack on America. A very close friend of my family, Captain Chris, (Actually my Dad's best friend) made his contribution in a different way, a way that has made me proud to be a Canadian, hence the song playing God Bless Canada by Lee Greenwood.

Our Christmas Card portrait to family and friends
this year, Christmas 2001, we all wore United We Stand t-shirts.
I realize this next picture is absolutely huge, but I think it is awesome that an Air Canada Captain made sure that he was in NYC on September 11, 2003 to take part in the memorial service at the World Trade Centre grounds....Way to go Chris! I wish I could have been there with you."

"Captain Chris with MAYOR RUDOLPH W. GIULIANI
September 11, 2003 at Ground Zero."

Chris is a Captain for Air Canada, On September 21 & 22, 2001, he was layed over in New York City. He visited as close to ground ZERO as possible(about 3 blocks away). It was close enough to see the destruction first hand(compared to watching on TV). He and His Co-Pilot talked to many New Yorkers. It was very very sad for him to be there. They walked by at least 6 different Fire Halls all of them had hundreds of bouquets of flowers, pictures of the lost firemen, candles everywhere, it was a very somber atmosphere.

To him the people of New York seemed strong though and were very appreciative of any help they could get!! After Chris donated some cash to a firemans fund he decided to buy a flag and fly it from his aircraft.

SO...On his next trip to New York, which was the 24th, 25th & 26th of September. As he was leaving New York, Captain Chris flew his American flag outside the cockpit window to show his support of America .

The Port Authority of JFK Airport requested Chris to stop the aircraft so they could take pictures. Other aircraft taxiing by (US airlines) gave him a lot of encouraging comments thanking Air Canada & Canada for their support!!

The PICS you see below are ones taken by people on the ramp and at the gates.

The date of this Flight was September 26, 2001.

John F. Kennedy Airport, New York City

GOD BLESS YOU CHRIS,
