Crystal Alliance

RATING: G
SUMMARY: An alliance of Saurians offers to make peace with the Guardians. But are they what they seem?
WARNINGS: Violence, unwilling drug use.
DISCLAIMER: I NO OWN. NO MONEY. NO SUE.

Missie sat at the conference table, a growing uneasiness inside her. She looked at the members of the Crystal Alliance, a group of supposedly 'peaceful Saurians'. Missie didn't buy it for a minute, but the other Guardians seemed to be in some sort of dream world, ignoring everything, especially Missie's suspicions. She sighed, and leaned back, when something caught her surprise.

Where were Joy, Rose, Christé and Duçula?

She suddenly noticed one of the Saurians slip something into the bottle of 134 White Wine on the table. She looked at the glass before her, and suddenly thought, is it possible that they're drugging the wine? Then realization hit her. They don't have the others here because they don't drink, and they think I'm drinking THAT! Missie lifted her glass of Burgandy, and took a sip. Of course, she thought, they don't realize I bring my own!

Missie turned to the Guardian beside her, and whispered, "Be right back." She nodded, and Missie rose. As she left, she didn't notice one of the Alliance rise and shadow her.

Missie turned to go to Rose's quarters in the Guardian compound, when she paused, getting odd readings. Deciding it was only her suspicions, she continued down the hall. Suddenly, almost to Rose's quarters, she spun to face the Saurian holding a tychion blaster aimed straight at her heart. Instantly she had her tckla* out and armed. "What do you want?" she snarled at the Saurian.

"Simple." The Saurian replied with a hiss. "We must destroy the most powerful force in the Universe if we want to succeed in our takeover of it."

"So you drug the Guardians into thinking it's just an ordinary Alliance?" Missie demanded.

"Yes," the Saurian said calmly, "And you're in the way." With that, he fired the blaster, hitting Missie full in the chest.

She stumbled back, then straightened. He fired again, and again, repeatedly. His last shot managed to down her. He stood over her, his claws poised to throw the final blow, when he was hit from behind by a flashing set of titanium claws. He fell, never to rise again, with Rose standing over him, her one good eye flashing with hate, and revenge for that one eye, her long, now bloodstained claws shining.

She knelt beside Missie, and was terrified to see her breathing shallow and labored. "Rose," Missie whispered with effort, "it was tychion."

"NO!" Rose screamed, and with her claws, made a small slash on Missie's stomach and on her right hand. She placed them together, and when the fire shot through their Guardian veins, she plunged her mind into Missie's, dissolving their barriers.

Desperete to purge the deadly effects of tychion to a Guardian, Rose probed deeper. Quite accidentally, she brushed against the bright, fire hot white light that was Missie's source of power, and sudden energy flowed through them both. Rose was flung back, and went through the wall. Missie suddenly sat up with a start, and stared at the Saurian laying on the ground by her in shock. She spun to see Rose, who was working her way out of the debris that used to be the wall before her quarters.

"Glad to see you up and at 'em, Missie" Rose sighed, with a mock grin.

"What happened?" Missie gasped.

"I'd say you're power's a mite too strong for me, Missie." Rose ran her hair through her waist length, chestnut hair. "Now, what do you say we put an end to this Alliance, hmm?"

Missie grinned, and clasped her friend's hand. "Deal."
