I represent a company that is interested in immediately filling a newly created position of Security Manager, based in St. Charles, Missouri. The area of responsibility will be the eastern Missouri, western Illinois and southwestern Indiana. The company has 13 sales centers and 1 production facility located in the area of responsibility.

 

The individual who fills this position should have: prior experience in law enforcement or corporate security; the ability to conduct both internal and external fraud and theft investigations; the ability to liaise with local law enforcement and prosecutors; and be computer literate.

 

Salary will be in the $70,000 per annum range. Additional remuneration includes a corporate benefits package and a vehicle for travel, or reimbursement for travel via personally owned vehicle, at the company's discretion.

Syracuse University seeks a professional for the position of Director of Public Safety. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Human Services and Government Relations, the Director of Public Safety is responsible for providing a safe and secure educational, living, and work environment for the University community through the enforcement of University policies and city, state, and federal laws.

The Director has administrative, operational, and financial responsibility for a 24-hour/365 days per year department of 61 full time staff members and 200 part time student employees. The Director oversees the multiple divisions of Public Safety including patrol services, residential security, investigations and victim assistance, communications center, community safety services, crime prevention programs, training and professional development, and escort services. The Director is responsible for insuring compliance with all reporting requirements on behalf of the institution and for collaborating with staff, faculty, and students to provide educational programs and public safety services. The Director develops and implements policies and procedures that address issues of campus safety and acts as liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement officials.

The successful candidate for this position will possess a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree is preferred, and extensive experience in public safety with strong supervisory and budgetary experience, a knowledge of current issues in law enforcement, public safety, and student life, and a vision for strong collaborative relationships with all facets of a university community. Experience in law enforcement, preferably within higher education, and evidence of building effective relationships with diverse constituencies in the context of practicing community policing are important contributing factors in the selection of the Director.
