This month's pick:
It was Nov.28th 1965 and The Washington Redskins had to play one of the best teams in the NFL the Dallas Cowboys. This game was supposed to be a Cowboy blowout, and in the first quarter it seemed it would end up that way.
In the first quarter Meredith threw a six yard pass to Dunn as the Cowboys took a 7-0 lead. The Cowboys defense was un passable and a fumble recovered by Green gave the Cowboys a 14-0 first quarter lead.
The Redskins finally got things going and had a field goal attempt, but it was blocked and returned by Gaechter 60 yards to give the Cowboys a 21-0 lead. The Redskins got a twenty-six yard pass to Taylor from Jurgensen to finally get on the board. The extra kick was blocked so the Cowboys had a 21-6 lead at half time.
The Cowboys got a feild goal to give them a 24-6 lead, but Jurgensens comeback was about to begin. A one yard run near the end of the third with a good kick after made it 24-13 Cowboys with one quarter to go.
Jurgensen lead another drive that ended with a two yard run by Lewis to make the score 24-20. Down by 21 at one point it was now a four point game. The Cowboys would get one more touchdown when Clark caught a 53 yard pass from Meredith to give the Cowboys a 31-20 lead, but that would be it for Dallas. The Redskins lead by Jurgensen struck back. Jurgensen threw a ten yard pass to Mitchell and a five yard pass to Coia to give the Redskins the 34-31, 21 comeback win.
