Thunder Hill Dairy Goats

Thunder Hills Dairy Goats was established in 1994. It was started with a Nubian cross as a 4-H project. As you know, you can never just have one goat so I acquired few LaManchas. I fell in love with the LaMancha style and personality and soon all the Nubians were sold. The herd is a mix of Recorded Grade Experimentals, American LaManchas, and Purebred LaManchas. Most are noted, but if you are unsure or would like more information- please feel free to email me and ask! Most of the kids and a few milkers will be for sale in the spring. A $50 Deposit will reserve the kid of your choice. The balance is due at the time of pick-up. Please make a second choice if your kid is not born or not available. I reserve the right to keep any replacement stock.

Clarissa 50% AL 50% AN

Clarissa is my baby. She was my first show goat and will always be my favorite. With the exception of Rum Raisen (see the botton of the page) every doe in the herd is a direct decenant of Clarissa. She has two legs towards her championship (never could pick up that last leg!). She is also a two star milker. I couldn't have wished for a better foundation doe. Even as an aged doe, she has the ability to improve her offspring. She is the dam of my first champion doe, Brooke.Clarissa lost her fight with tyroid cancer in February 2005. Her memory and legacy will live on her in daughter and grand-daughters. Clarissa was one of a kind and will never be forgotten.

"Brooke"
75% AL 15% AN

Brooke finished her Championship, as a 4 year old 2nd freshener, by going Grand Champion and Best Udder at the Central Coast Counties Dairy Goat show in July 2001 under Peggie Considine. She is the first doe in my herd to finish her championship. Her claim to fame is her almost flawless udder. Her rear udder is amazing, her high and wide with a wonderful upside down "U" shape to it. Brooke hates traveling to shows and has been retired since finishing her championship.Brooke is pictured here at seven years old. Brooke is now enjoying a well deserved retirment! Show record: 1xBDIS, 4xGCH, 1XBU, 2x2nd Champion Challenge.

Thunder Hills BH Fawn
87% AL 12% AN

2004 All American Jr Milker Recorded Grade!

Fawn has really come into herself this year. She attended her first show as a milker at the 4th of July show and was named Reserve Champion Recorded Grade and Best Udder!! Not bad for her first time out. She is incredibly long and level, which makes her very eye appealing. Her udder is extremely well attached all the way around and she has the softest udder texture in the herd. Although she stands on strong feet and legs, I would like to see her pasterns a little shorter- but that's all I would change! We had trouble catching Fawn in heat, so if bred she will be carrying boerX kids. Show record 1xBU, 6xRCH, 2x1st, 1x2nd, 1xRJrCh.

Thunder-Hills Iris
87% AL 12% AN

Iris one of my favorites. She is the largest doe in the herd and the most productive. She has proved to be a wonderful brood doe. Her daughter, Poppy, is one of the top show milkers this year and her 2004 daughter, Orchid, won her dry leg at the first show of the year! She has tremendous width through out is extremely correct on her feet and legs. Iris has one Reserve Grand Championship and a dry leg to her credit. Iris is now enjoying her retirement and will not be bred. Show record: 1xRCH, 2x1st, 1x2nd, 2xJrCH. Pedigree: Iris Pedigree for Iris

Thunder Hills BH Golden Poppy
American LaMancha

Poppy is a personal favorite. She is one of those does that is always right there waiting for attention! She is the carbon copy of her dam Iris. Although Poppy is not as big as her dam, she is a typical Hamlet kid, being very eye appealing with great general apperance. Poppy's udder is amazing- smooth attachment everywhere! Poppy was Reserve Champion LaMancha at our 4th of July show against some very stiff competition!! Poppy has been bred to Thunder- Hills BH Tybalt for April kids. Does $200, Bucks $175. Ultrasound results: Triplets. Show record 3xRCH, 4x2nd, 1XJrCh.

Doe kid born 5/19/04
"Thunder Hills RM Peach"
Sire: GCH South-Fork Thunder's Rainman +*B
Dam: Thunder Hills BH Golden Poppy
Peach is about the cutest kid- ever! She has the best LaMancha inquizitive personality. I really admire this does body capacity, natural levelness, and her amazing width between the hocks. She is a keeper. Peach is bred to Celtic Knot T Golden Allusion for March kids. Ultrasound- Single. Show record 1x1st, 2x2nd, 2x6th.

Thunder Hills FMS Rum Raisen

Sire: Fir Meadow RE Sterling

Dam: Thunder Hills RM Bacardi

Raisen is an incredibly level and powerful little doe. She's not the most friendly doe in the pen, but we are working on that! Please forgive the candid picture- it will have to do until her first show. She has not been show due to her late birthdate, but we hope to get her in the ring in 2006! I had planned to keep her dry for 2006, but she had other ideas! Raisen is bred to Celtic Knot T Golden Allusion. Ultra sound results: Single. Due April 29th.

Doe kid born 4/08/05
"Thunder Hills BH Ivy"

Sire: Becca's Hamlet *B
Dam: Thunder Hills Iris
Wow, this VERY flashy solid black kid is going to be a show stopper. She's wide, she's level and she's super friendly! (she's so friendly, it's very hard to get her to stand still for very long =). She's a keeper. What out for this one. We had planned top keep Ivy dry for 2006, but she had other plans! Bred to Celtic- Knot T Golden Allusion.Ultrasounds results: Twins Due April 22nd, 2006

Photo coming soon

Sire: Thunder Hills BH Tybalt
Dam: Thunder Hills BH Orchid

Spoiled for the very begining!! This double Hamlet grand-daughter is about the cutest thing you have ever seen. She thinks she should be with people, not goats! She's so friendly I was unable to take a picture of her by myself! This is the first Tybalt daughter, and she's lookin' good! Rosie will be dry in 2006.
