Why i prefer Hakeem Olajuwon to other NBA superstars such as Michael Jordan or Shaq .
Before i start , i'd like to remind that i do other NBA players ,
this is just a couple of reasons why i favour Hakeem 'the dream' Olajuwon

Hakeem Olajuwon is a bloody good player .
He's one of the NBA's 50 best players , played for the olympic's dream
team , won 2 NBA championship , a NBA defensive player of the year ,
league MVP , finals MVP , a future hall of famer , and he's one of the
only 4 players in the NBA that has made a quadruple double (Micheal who ?) .
It is common to see Hak going for 30 points , 12 boards , 4 blocks , and
4 steals . He has all the talents of a great centre , but not only that ,
he also excels in passing and stealing abilities . The Boston Celtics once
even offered Larry Bird for Olajuwon .
*note* there was a time when the chicago bulls once offered Michael
Jordan AND a draft pick for Ralph Sampson ( the dream's teamate ) !!!!!
Makes you wonder what would've happened if AIR Jordan teamed up with The Dream .
They'd probably would've won every game they'd play together !
Doesn't boast his game .
He's never one of those players who gets a 40 points night and thrash talk
the other team .
Dennis Rodman probably would pull down 15 boards and score something like
3 points and he'll claim that the other team was a piece of cake .
The Dream doesn't advertise himself .

Sure he's got his own Splading shoes , but thats normal for a superstar to
have a shoe deal (you're not a star until you have your own shoe . Simple
as that) , the thing is he doesn't gloss in every b-ball magazine poster
trying to sell that shoe of his . Haks cool .
Michael Jordan , now thats a guy that adverties himself way too much .
Sure , he's great , but when you're as great as MJ , you gotta stay cool
and calm . Not jump at every money making offer like that . Michael's own
perfume ? better yet , Space Jam ? When you go on Nike commercials that
goes like 'challenge me , tell me i'm older , tell me i can no longer fly ,
i want you too' , you're not suppose to go play b-ball with BUGS
and DAFFY !!!!?
Shaq too with his Kazaam , Dennis Rodman with his weird antics .
But Dennis is excused coz he's already messed up .
*note*
read dennis's 'walk on the wild side' . Its hilarious . Can't wait for the
movie . (no sarcasm here , its worth it) .
Hak knows when he's having an off game .
Example , when earlier this year against the Lakers , Olajuwon wasn't up
to his usual game , instead , Kevin Willis was doing quite a good job
replacing Hakeem . Instead of going back on the floor , he told coach Rudy
Tomjonovich to let Willis take his place . Most superstars will feel
threaten when their bench players have a better game than them .
A basically all around nice guy .
He was the starter for an all star game couple years back in San Antonio .
David Robinson was the hometown's favourite . So Hak , offered to give up
his starting centre position to 'the admiral' . The guys got class and style
too .
*note* although there was much hoopla about Olajuwon's elbow connecting
with Detlef Schrempf's face of the Seattle Supersonics in a playoff series .
The guy's got loyalty .
Lots of players in the NBA who aren't much in the loyalty department .
The Dream is one of the few players who are still with the team that first
signed him up .
Shaq said he'll never leave Orlando . Shawn Kemp left for a few more millions
although it was excusable since Seattle signed up Jim Mcalvain for more
bucks than they pay Kemp . That was a time bomb waiting to happen .
*note* credit has to be given to the Sonics though for getting through
the deal without hurting their chemistry .
Hak kicked Shaq's ass in the 95 finals .
Although they both put up almost similiar numbers ( Hak outscored Shaq by one or
two points , and Shaq outrebounded Hak by one or two rebounds ) , the Houston
Rockets swept the Magic-less Orlando 4-0 , including a 20 point halftime comeback
in Game 1 .
Hakeem's not money crazy .
After being MVP for the 93-94 finals game , he received many endorsment
contracts . Notebly from Nike and Reebok . He dismissed these contracts when
he sees how expensive Nikes and Reeboks are . 'How can a poor mother with 3
boys buys Nikes and Reeboks for $120 ? She can't . So kids steal these shoes
from stores and from other kids . Some even kill for them '. So instead ,
he signed a contract with Spalding and work developing his shoe , which sells
for $35 .
Uh , he doesn't strangle his own coach ?
Well , he doesn't ! And he doesn't kick photographers in the groin too .
*note* this is MY Olajuwon page and i'll write any damn thing i
want about Hakeem even if this is stretching it .
