Freeware for Windows 95 / 98 (European download sites)

What can you expect on this page?

Each program can be used under Windows 95 and also under 98, unless otherwise specified

Steps to take:

  1. Find out if you have Windows 95 or Windows 98
  2. Insert a blank floppy in the 3 1/5 " diskette station
  3. Click on one of the links below
  4. After a few seconds you should see a dialog box, where you can specify if you want to download to a diskette or to your C: drive
  5. Choose "diskette", so you always have a back-up in case something goes wrong.
  6. You can give another, logical, name to the program, like "midiplayer.exe" or "midiplayer.zip" instead of "dlmidip2hx4.exe" or "dlmidip2hx4.zip".
  7. Click "OK" or "save". After a few minutes the download is complete.
  8. Clickong on the "back" button in the toolbar brings you back to this page, where you can click on another link....

Your next step is to install the program on your computer.

  1. Copy the program from your diskette to your C:\temp directory or C:\Windows\temp directory.
    In case of an .exe program:
  2. Install the program by double-clicking on its name.
  3. Follow the directions and install the program in C:\tools\{name of the program} or C:\Program files\{name of the program}.
  4. Delete the contents of your C:\temp directory
  5. You can run the program by a click on "start", "Programs", {name of the manufacturer}, {name of the program}


In case of a .zip program:

  1. If you haven't already done so, first install WinZip . If you have, then go to the previous step (2). Otherwise, go to the next step 2.
  2. To install WinZip, first copy the WinZip exe from your diskette to your C:\temp directory or C:\Windows\temp directory.
  3. Install WinZip by double-clicking on its name.
  4. Follow the directions and install the program in C:\tools\{name of the program} or C:\Program files\{name of the program}.
  5. Delete the contents of your C:\temp directory
  6. You can run the program by a click on "start", "Programs", {name of the manufacturer}, {name of the program}
