Sublime is a mixture of ska, rock, punk, and a little bit of hip-hop. Brad was vocals and guitar. Eric was bass and Bud was drums. They had their first gig in 1988. The first c.d. they made was "40 oz. to Freedom," which was made in 1992. The second c.d. they made was "Robbin the Hood," which was made in 1994. In 1995, Sublime went on their Warped Tour. The third c.d. they made was "Sublime," which was made in 1996. The fourth c.d. was "Second Hand Smoke," which was made in 1997.
The band died when Brad died. Brad Nowell was born on February 22, 1968. He died on May 25, 1996. He died when he was 28.
Brad was a graduate of Wilson High School. No Doubt dedicated their song "Don't Speak" to Brad after his death. No Doubt plays some of Sublime's songs at their concerts. "What I Got" won best alternative video by MTV. Mark McGrath, singer of Sugar Ray, is Brad's first cousin.
