Part One
Captain Janeway's Personal log:
"Well, I've done it again. Everyone is going to die and it's all my fault. I've just come back from sickbay and it's definate....there is no hope....no cure. Let me backtrack for a moment. It all started when on our way back to the alpha quadrant, Voyager happened upon a disabled alien vessel. After scans indicated no lifesigns, I sent an away team over to investigate. The ship's technology was inferior to ours and it was determined there was nothing salvageable aboard. The away team returned and within hours began to experience signs of a serious illness. A virus unlike anything our medical technology was familiar with, even the medical screening the away team was put thru when reboarding did not catch it. The Doctor then determined that it was airborne and highly contagious. No species was immune...not Klingon, not Vulcan,.....not even Borg. But of course the biggest shock was to learn it was deadly....extremely deadly. The Doctor has given us 24 hours....24 hours from the moment the away team returned....to live. There is no cure....everyone will die and it's all my fault. Curiosity killed the cat they say and now mine is killing my crew. If I had just bypassed that ship and concentrated on getting us back to the Alpha Quadrant where we belong. It's my fault we are here in the first place, so far away from our friends and loved ones. I made a bad decision then and I made an even worse one now. But I do have a way of helping them, I think. The Doc said the only way to find an antidote is to harvest a tissue sample of the organs from a recently deceased crew member. But since we all became infected within a short time it is likely we all will die within a short time...not enough time to analyze the sample and produce a cure. I've decided to do the only honorable thing....wow I sound like B'Elanna. I'm going to sacrifice myself in hopes that it will allow the Doctor to find a cure before the rest of the crew's time runs out. It's not that I welcome death, but I believe this is what I must do. If this ship should somehow make it back to the Alpha Quadrant and my logs are read by Starfleet, I take full responsibility for all the mishaps this ship has gone thru. I only hope I can right this wrong. And tell my family I love them."

Janeway rose from the couch in her quarters and before she could change her mind went straight to the replicator. She overrode the replicator's safety controls and replicated herself a hypospray containing a strong sedative...strong enough to put herself to sleep...permanently. She sealed the doors to her quarters and sat down on the couch in what she hoped was a dignified pose. She tapped her comm badge and requested Chakotay and the Doctor report to her quarters. The lethal sedative would act quickly and she would surely be gone when they arrived. The lock on her doors would also give her a few extra moments for the sedative to take effect. She raised the hypospray and took a deep breath.
The doors to her quarters flew open and a blast from a phaser knocked the hypospray out of her hand. She looked up to find Seven standing in her doorway holding a phaser and breathing a heavy sigh of relief.
"What the hell do you think you are doing Seven and how did you get in here?" Janeway barked.
"I think it's more prudent to ask what you are doing Captain?"
Janeway gazed at the floor. The hypospray was just inches away....if she could just distract Seven.
Seven followed her eyes and saw what the gaze was focused on. She set the phaser a setting higher and blasted the spray into tiny pieces.
"You don't think that can stop me, Seven. I'll just replicate another one." Janeway rose to her feet and quickly crossed the room to her replicator. She half expected to hear another blast from Seven's phaser, this time directed at her, but when she glanced over her shoulder Seven was casually leaned against the door frame looked unworried. Janeway quickly punched in some commands to the keypad only to have the computer spout "Access denied." She turned and fixed Seven with an angry glare.
"What have you done?" she demanded.
"I've saved your life, Captain."Seven explained.
"Dammit, Seven. Don't you see, you've killed us all."
Seven visibly winced at the comment. This was going to be the hardest thing she had ever done. Harder than escaping the Borg even. She looked Janeway straight in the eye, took a deep breath and confessed. "I can't live without you...not even in these last hours. You can't leave me here alone." Seven started.
"Seven, what are you talking about? None of us are going to live...we are all going to die if you don't let me do this." Janeway said exasperated.
Seven led Janeway over to the couch and sat down beside her. "Let me explain and then if you still want to kill yourself, I won't stand in your way."
Janeway blinked. "OK." she said uneasily. This had to be a trick.
Seven took both of Kathryn's hands in her own and pulled her closer. "I love you, Kathryn. I've loved you since the first moment saw you. When you rescued me from the Borg, you gave me my life back. A life that had been stolen from me. I didn't realize that at first, but I do now. Everything I do is to please you....you are my life. I can't imagine being away from you....you not being here. So, if you take your life, I shall take mine as well. That way we can be together, even in death."
Kathryn sat very still. "Seven, you don't know what you are saying. It's the sickness talking. You don't love me, you may thank me for giving you a better life, but you don't love me."
"I do love you. I've been trying to think of a way to tell you for months. But we've run out of time. I saw the look in your eyes when the Doctor mentioned the antidote. I knew you would try to help the crew in the only way you knew how. That's why I blocked your replicator access, but I was too late. I decoded the door seal just in time....if I had been a moment later....I can't think of what I would have found in here." Seven pulled in a ragged breath. "Please" she begged. "Don't leave me now...not yet." She leaned over and brushed her lips over Kathryn's.
It must have been the stress of the last few hours or the adrenaline pumping through her veins. Even so, Janeway was surprised at how her body reacted. When Seven's lips pressed into hers, she arched up to deepen the contact. She pulled her hands from Seven's and wrapped them around her neck, bringing her body in closer contact with the beautiful Borg.
Seven moaned at the feel of Kathryn's breasts pressing against her own. In a flash, she picked her up and carried her into the bedroom, never breaking the contact of their lips.
Inside the bedroom, Seven laid Janeway on her bed and stood back and slowly removed her clothing. She then assisted the captain in removing hers. Settling down on top of her, Seven once again pressed her full lips to Kathryn's. She wanted to go slowly...explore every delicious inch, but she was too afraid Kathryn would change her mind and end their lovemaking. Seven was prepared. She had read every bit of data she could find on same sex intimacy and she had even done a bit of exploring on her own body to see what felt good. She planned to use as much of this knowledge as possible tonight.
Seven let her lips slid off of Kathryn's mouth and down her neck, nibbling and kissing the warm flesh. She slid her hands up the sides of Kathryn's torso and cupped the smaller woman's breasts. Seven brought her mouth down to the pale pink circle and surrounded the nipple with her lips. She sucked gently and then more insistently as Kathryn's hips lifted off the bed and a moan escaped her lips. Kathryn reach down to tangle her fingers in the blond's thick tresses, pulling her mouth in closer contact with her breast.
Kathryn moaned again as Seven continued the assault on her breasts, switching back and forth just as the one became too sensitive to bear a touch. Her eyes glazed over as Seven finally pulled herself away and shifted her body to reach lower on her body. Her legs opened almost on their own and Seven settled comfortably between them. Seven's hand's spread Janeway's lips apart and after a few seconds of getting oriented she dove in,driven by a lustful hunger. Kathryn cried out as two fingers entered her while a tongue played maddeningly on her clit. She felt herself quickly building to a climax and almost embarrassingly reaching one after only a few moments of attention from Seven's ministrations.
Before she could catch her breath, Seven swung her own hips around and pulled Kathryn into an intimate 69 position. Kathryn didn't hesitate and quickly spread Seven's thighs and tangled her fingers in the the patch of blond hair now only inches from her face. She pulled slightly on the strands and smiled and the strangled gasp she heard from below. Seven hadn't stopped after her lover had reached her first peak, she was determined that it was only the first of many to be reached this night.
Kathryn raised her head and slowly ran her tongue along Seven's inner thighs, teasing and finally stopping at the apex between her legs. She eased on finger into the virginal opening and slowly made room for a second. Each woman seemed to sense the others needs and the pace quickened and slowed, depending body movements and encouraging moans. Seven was also quick to reach her first climax and the next two seem to come crashed right after as if in one long, blissful stream of pleasure. Finally after Kathryn lost count of how many times each had come, she begged Seven to stop. Sliding out from beneath her she pulled the blond up to face her and they shared a long kiss tasting each other juices on their lips. As Kathryn buried her head in Seven's neck and drifted off to sleep, Seven was pleased to hear "I love you" escape Kathryn's lips.
*************Kathryn rolled over and was surprised as she realized she wasn't alone in bed. Then everything came rushing back to her.....her attempted suicide...Seven's declaration of love....making love all night. My gods, what time was it. She quickly disentangled herself from those long legs that seemed to go on forever and jumped out of bed. After hurriedly dressing, she made her way down to Sickbay...the corridors seemed eerily quiet. She found the EMH bent over a microscope and rushed over to him.
"Anything?" she inquired as he jumped, not seeming aware that she had entered the room.
"Ah, Captain. No, 10 hours to go and I'm still at a loss. Now that you are here I might as well take a look at how your body is holding up."
Janeway sneered. "I'm holding up just fine considering I killed my crew."
"Now Captain," scolded the Doc. "There will be no more talk like...." he drifted off.
Janeway looked up sharply. "What's wrong?"
"This can't be possible....it just can't be."he said shaking his head. "Something is wrong with this tricorder." He moved off and was back shortly with another. "This one says the same thing. I don't understand."
"What?" demanded Janeway. Could it be possible they had even less time. How could she let Seven talk her out of her plan. She should have ended her life so that the crew would have a chance.
"She's cured, isn't she?" an oddly familiar voice drifted over to Janeway and the Doc. Janeway snapped around and saw Seven standing there.
"What is going on here?"asked the Doctor. "Seven, come here and let me examine you." He ran the tricorder along Seven's torso and was again amazed at the readout. "No sign of the virus." He rushed over to Ensign Kim who was lying on a biobed seemingly unconscious. "He still is sick. How did you two get better?"
Two pair of eyes focused questioningly on Seven of Nine. From behind her back she produced a small vial. "I reprogrammed my nanoprobes to attack the virus. It seems to have worked." she said simply.
"But we tried that, Seven." the Doctor protested. "And it didn't work. Why is it working now?"
"I remembered when we programmed my nanoprobes to repel species 8472. This time I instructed the probes to eat through the cell walls of the viral agent, thus destroying it. It was simple once I found the right weakness...the virus was designed to overtake every organic cell in came in contact with. I just manipulated my nanoprobes to appear as regular cells and the rest was easy."
The Doctor fed the nanoprobes into a machine that would reproduce them in the mass quantity he would need for the rest of the crew. "So, you tried it on yourself and the Captain. Exactly how did you convince the Captain to be your guinea pig?"
Captain Janeway spun around at stared at Seven. "How did you get the nanoprobes in my system and why didn't you tell me about this sooner? My Gods, Seven I thought we were all going to die. You had the cure and you hid it from us."
Seven blushed. "I didn't hide it. As soon as my research was complete I injected myself with the probes. After I realized they worked, I came directly to you, but you were occupied at the moment." Seven was tactful enough not to mention the Captain's suicide attempt in front of the doctor.
Janeway refused to look embarrassed. "That still doesn't explain how I got the nanoprobes inside me, Seven. Did you inject me while I was asleep?"
Seven lowered her voice and steered Janeway away from the Doctor who was busily working on the newfound cure. "I simply fed you the nanoprobes and they did their work as programmed."
Janeway retorted. "I didn't eat anything with you last night Seven..."Then it was Kathryn's turn to blush. She had readily ingested Seven's bodily fluid when they had made love. "So, you lied to me. That was all just an act to trick me into getting in bed with you. Wouldn't it have been easier just to knock me over the head and inject me while I was unconscious. You betrayed me Seven....and I will never forgive you for this."
With that Janeway turned on her heel and exited sickbay leaving a very dejected and confused Borg behind.
