Personal Info:

Tohru Honda was living with her mother just about a year ago when she had a car accident and died. Now Tohru lives by herself in a tent in the woods, because she doesn't want to bother her friends or burden anyone. That is the kind of character Tohru has. She is always worrying about others, and willing to take great lengths to avoid getting them hurt. She stumbles across a house on her way back from school, and finds out her classmate, "the Prince of Kaiawa High School" Yuki Sohma lives there with his older cousin. From this moment on, the Sohmas offer her a place to stay as long as she does housework for them. The Sohmas are kind and look out for Tohru. She meets the other Sohmas like Kyo and Hatori, and they take an immediate liking to her.

She is an honest, kind, and generous person. Who wouldn't like Tohru? There are some people though in the Sohma house who don't like Tohru and want to hurt her... Yuki, Kyo and Tohru, however, live together and enjoy life, struggling and helping each other as they deal with problems. A sort of triangle type friendship develops between the three. Yuki and Kyo both like Tohru, and Tohru likes botrh of them. Yuki and Kyo hate each other, so she tries to get them back together. Tohru finds out that the Sohmas are not normal people, but they are cursed (they turn into animals when hugged by the opposite sex or when they come under stress). This makes for a very funny and unpredictable turn of events. Sometimes Tohru gets too emotional and hugs them causing them to become animals, it's very funny. Tohru is an easy person to get along with. She is the main character of the series, and so the story is mainly from her perspective. She constantly talks about her mother, who she misses very much. She even starts crying on New Year's when her mother and her used to eat dinner together. She gives support and help to everyone, but do they give support to her, do they even care? She is constantly puzzled, and is a bit too emotional when it comes to little things like getting a 'C' on a test.

Tohru also has some objectible traits. For instance, there are 3 cross-dressers in the series. Yeah, that is alot. She doesn't think there is anything wrong with a guy wearing girl's clothes. I find that very strange. She also is too quiet at times when she needs to say something. Like one time Shigure said to Hatori, I know you are jealous of my wife. So Kyo was listening and he is about to beat Shigure up, and then he says to Tohru, shouldn't you be a bit unpleasant. I think Kyo is very intelligent in that regard, he has alot more sense than the others in matters like that. There is also one more thing that I find objectable. One time when she is talking to Ritsu she says that maybe there is no meaning in life, but you have to find a meaning in people around you. I don't believe that, but maybe that is just my ultra orthodox religious point of views. heh. Well, basically, Tohru is an overall good person. Sometimes, people think she is slow and too gullible. Personally, I think Tohru's character is a very good personality, and she is a very good friend. Her best friends are Hanajima Saki and Arisa Uotani, and they always looked out for her after her mom passed away.
