The Scape Goat

Well, here it is, the jewel in our crown, the basis of the name, and the very first outcry we did.

Our darling goat, L'il Lilly, was first molded out of chicken wire, during which process our caterpillar showed unforseen talent in wire goat creation. She was then paper mached, first with newspaper and later with the profuse and pointless history notes donated by our scarab. After several coats, she was sprayed with a white primer base coat so the culprits' names wouldn't show through, especially those on the history notes. Finally, she was painted neon colors (as was our hostess' laundry machine and carpet...) and pasted with pictures of goats, "goats are cool," a target on her rear, and SCAPE across the side, transported in the getaway car to the school, stuck in the ground (which involved rushing back and forth to the drinking fountain trying to wet the ground enough to stick it in) tied to the lamppost as if grazing, and left to be found the next morning.

The fate of the goat is rather a sad one. Amazingly, it remained in place through four periods and on into lunch. After that, however, it's gallant creators being on a field trip (and quite a field trip, indeed), it was taken during fifth period and, despite dumpster searches and subtle questioning sent out to the janitors, tragically never recovered. It's memory lives on in the four and these rather incriminating pictures:

The paper mache had a few problems drying, so we gave it a little help. Although a certain spider appears to be attacking it... or the photographer, we're not sure...

The culprits crounch with hair dryers beside their creation. Come to LIFE!

Caught neon-handed! Dressed in incriminating black and sneaking about like the vandals they are, the Widow and 'Pillar remain unabashed.

The four pose shamelessly with their finished product. Let's hope the papers never get ahold of this photo...
