Where the wand chooses the wizard
There are several different aspects to the wand: length, substance, core, feel and skill. You can either pick traits aspect by aspect, pick a wand from one of our boxes in storage, or, for the technologically advanced, go to the link at the bottom and have a custom wand selected for you. Unfortunately, the headmistress is insanely busy with schoolwork for the next three weeks, and thus Hogwarts is not really functioning. Length: By quarter inches, from about 7 to 16 inches
Substance: Almost any wood, such as willow, mahogany, yew, oak, beech, maple, rosewood, ash, hornbeam or holly. Also minerals, such as ebony.
Core: Traditionally either unicorn hair, pheonix feather, or dragon heartstring. Fleur had a veela hair. Any long, thin magical object will do.
Feel: Ranges from swishy to rigid. Some adjectives are inflexible, springy, pliable, powerful, bendy, flexible, whippy, or supple.
Skill: Can be especially good at any specific wizarding skill, such as charms, spells, transfiguration, etc.
