Our Activities

We are doing many exciting things in our classroom. In our school-wide reading incentive program, our class was one of few to finish all their reading requirements two times in a row!

We have recently started a French Class where the children have French lessons each week. The students are very excited about learning a new language. As time goes by, I would like to incorporate some Spanish lessons as well.

We will be doing webquests and Internet searches on the following in the coming months: Fox all Week moral decisions, snow, Blackbeard, the Old West, the newly discovered planet, and the Titanic. We will take virtual tours of the Capitol and White House, and we will do an in-depth study of the life of Abraham Lincoln's little boy, Tad. We will also complete a comparing and contrasting lesson on times of the past with times of the future. These lessons are part of the American Memory Collection and my participation in the American Memory training at Furman University and Washington D. C. at the Library of Congress.
