Subject: Belgrave Pryer
Norma, family search.org lists Belgrave Pryer living with John Pryer and Sybil Pryer in 1850. There is a history of Washtenaw county that shows he owned a section of land adjacent to the lands owned in Salem twp by John and Benjamin Pryer. You can find an additional reference to the Congressional record for the purchase in 1847 by googling Belgrave Pryer.
If you google, Humphrey Pryer there is a book on-line which references his heirs. You will also see a reference to Ruth Ann Pryer Gunnison in Clinton County, Mi. I have run into a small number of persons in the Lansing area named Pryer as well as descendents of Ruth Ann named Lavengood.

HUMPHREY PRYER II (HUMPHREY) b. abt 1720 of Buckinghamshire, England d. abt 1780 England (three wives) Children: 1. JOHN PRYER; 2. HUMPHREY PRYER III; 3. JAMES PRYER of Hemsted; 4. ANN PRYER; and 5. one other daughter. The two girls and JOHN were born to the first wife.
Several marriages of HUMPHREY PRYER (which one?) are: m. 6/17/1766 Chesham, Buckingham, England to MARY GROVER; m. 11/19/1771 Chesham, Buckingham, England to MARY OLDHAM.
JOHN PRYER (HUMPHREY II, HUMPHREY I) b. England d. 2/5/1792 Hemsted, England. Two children: 1. HUMPHREY PRYER IV and 2. a daughter

Worden Cemetery Salem Twp MI m. 8/8/1798 Chesham, Buckingham, England to HANNAH BRITTON b. 2/6/1775 Buckinghamshire, England d. 1/25/1840 bur. Worden Cemetery.
Besides this HANNAH PRYER there is one other HANNAH PRYER in the Worden Cemetery. She was b. 3/21/1791 d. 9/1876. Also BELGRAVE PRYER b. 1808 d. 12/28/1884 age 76 is in the cemetery. I will mention BELGRAVE later but I do not know who the second HANNAH is. If you can help me please write to norma@naples.net.
HUMPHREY PRYER IV and wife HANNAH left England on May 9, 1805. During a terrible storm they had to throw all their belongings overboard. He was a tripe dresser in England. In America he was a shoemaker and a blacksmith.

CLARA EMMA PRYER (BENJAMIN, HUMPHREY, JOHN, HUMPHREY, HUMPHREY)[Norma's ancestor] b. 9/12/1857 d. 8/5/1908 m. 7/15/1884 to EUGENE CHARLES BARTLETT. CLARA graduated from the Pharmacy School at the University of Michigan. She was one of the first three women at the University of Michigan.
CLARA PRYER had the Pharmacy in Salem. Her brother, BENORA PRYER, had his doctor's office upstairs.
