Niagara Falls

Lori and I were lucky enough to be invited to Niagara Falls this summer by Alysia, who worked with Lor this summer at Statistics Canada. We had an awesome, jam-packed weekend trip.

Pictured above is Lori and Alysia near the falls themselves (that you can't actually see).

We stopped here en route to two other great places. There is a scary tale that goes along with this tunnel. That was enought to keep me out of it at night!

As you can see, we toured Niagara somewhat off the beaten track so to speak!

The first place we visited after the tunnel was Avondale Dairy Bar - and they mean dairy bar. This place had some fantastic ice cream and they made the coolest sundaes (and every other ice cream treat you can think of).

We picked up some incredible homemade ice cream and ate it outside on the picnic tables by the swings. Cute place!

This picture features Alysia and I waving from the front of Avondale.

As soon as we saw this sign, it was agreed that I had to have it. However, the price of those things is outrageous - so we settled for a picture.

This is from the second little shop of sorts on our outing, Picards. It's a peanut place, and do they ever have peanuts! They grow them all on the property and they are delicious. They have dozens of different flavours and kinds of peanuts and a really neat history. They also have chocolates and some neat drinks and stuff.

This picture was taken in the antique shop that is attached. There was some pretty interesting stuff, including a "John Deere Road" sign similar to the one pictured above!

This was taken by a very sweet little couple on some platform thing. I don't remember what this particular place is called, but it was a trail some hundreds of feet below sea level or whatever. The rocks and water and all that jazz were amazing.

Picards is the greatest peanut place on the planet!! They have peanuts of every flavour and kind. This is Lori and I outside the main door.

Here is our Lori rounding up some rocks for us to bring home as souvenirs.
