Skate With The Mechanics Tonight! Bikini Contest Wednesday Night!
Fraser, MI – The Motor City Mechanics are looking to the week ahead when the play Rockford at home on Sunday and hit the road for three consecutive games next weekend.
Friday, December 10th @ Fort Wayne 3-0, L:
Mechanics forward Matt Hunter was awarded a penalty shot with 30 seconds remaining in the opening period but was unable to capitalize. The Komets tallied a goal in each period to earn the 3-0 shutout.
Sunday, December 12 vs. Danbury5 5-2 L:
The Mechanics outshot the number one ranked team in the league on Sunday night but were unable to solve Trasher goaltender Scott Stirling more than twice. After a scoreless first period, Danbury jumped out to a two goal lead early in the second. Ryan Baker and David Bonk each tallied one for Motor City but Danbury came away with the 5-2 victory.
Skate With The Mechanics TONIGHT:
Meet and greet your favorite Mechanics players tonight from 6:15 – 7:45 at the Great Lakes Sports City Superior Arena. And don’t forget to bring your skates! This event is open to the public and admission is free. All Mechanics merchandise will also be on sale.
Melt The Ice at the Next Home Game:
The Mechanics will be at home this Wednesday, December 15th when they take on the Rockford IceHogs. Wednesday’s game will feature the final round of the “Melt the Ice” bikini contest sponsored by Wild Woody’s, 101.1 WRIF and Miller Beer. Game time is 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on 1310 AM WXDX.
Marathon For Meals:
The Motor City Mechanics will be at Great Lakes Crossing tomorrow, Tuesday, December 14th, from 6-8pm in front of Gander Mountain. Bring your canned good donation and receive a free autograph. Great Lakes Crossing is located on Baldwin Rd at I-75 in Auburn Hills.
On The Road:
The Mechanics will hit the road this week. On Friday night, Motor City takes on Kansas City. Saturday night it the Missouri River Otters and Sunday will feature a game at Rockford. All three games will be broadcast on 1310 AM WXDX.
Christmas With Karen Newman:
The Mechanics welcome Karen Newman back to The Garage on December 22nd when they face the Port Huron Beacons. Karen will perform the National Anthem and the first 1,000 fans will receive free holiday ornaments courtesy of LDMI.
Meet Spongebob and Dora:
Meet Spongebob Squrepants and Dora The Explorer at the Mechanics game on December 29th. The Mechanics take on the Kalamazoo wings at 7:30 pm.

Mechanics right wing Joe Burton is only two points away from 1,000 career points. Burton has tallied 572 goals and 426 assists over 12 professional seasons, 11 of which he played with the Oklahoma City Blazers of the CHL. Burton’s most productive season came in 1997-98, when he notched 74 goals and 50 assists for 124 points. Currently, Burton has 7 goals and 6 assists this season with the Mechanics.
