The Mechanics also hosted a Teddy Bear Toss and Post-Game Jersey Auction, both benefiting Children’s Hospital tonight. <br> After a scorless first period, Dan Price brought the teddy bears onto the ice just over six minutes into the second period giving the Mechanics a 1-0 lead. Olivier Proulx knotted the game at one apiece on a power play goal three minutes later. <br> The game ended in a 1-1 tie and headed into a shoot out. Cory Laylin and Joe Burton each scored in the first round of the shoot out. But it was Rod Aldoff that was able to beat Mechanics netminder Rod Branch for the 2-1 shoot out win. <br> Several hundred teddy bears were collected during the second period for Children’s Hospital. Red and green holiday jersey’s worn by the Mechanics tonight were auctioned off following the game, proceeds benefiting Children’s Hospital. <br> The Mechanics will hit the road this Friday, December 10th against the Fort Wayne Komets. Game time is 8:00 pm and will be broadcast on 1310 AM WXDX. On Sunday, December 12th, the Mechanics will return to The Garage to face the Danbury Trashers for the first time this season.
