Motor City Drops 5-2 Decision At Home
Fraser, MI – The Motor City Mechanics gave up a 2-0 lead, allowing five third period goals to the Kansas City Outlaws tonight, suffering a 5-2 loss.
The Mechanics opened up the scoring early when Brad Cruikshank tallied his fifth goal of the season at the 1:23 mark of the first period. Heading into the second frame with a 1-0 lead, Rick Smith found the back of the net on the powerplay to go ahead 2-0.
With Blair Manning and Jeremy Law in the penalty box, the Outlaws took advantage of the situation and tallied two powerplay goals and one at even strength in a two minute span of the third period. Adding two empty-netters, Kansas City dominated the third period with five goals. Joe Seroski netted a hat trick and Mark Lee racked up three assists to lead the Outlaws tonight. In goal, Rod Branch made 34 saves for the Mechanics and Mark McArthur made 31 saves for Kansas City.
Join the Mechanics at home next weekend when they host league leading Danbury on Friday, January 6th, Port Huron on Saturday, January 7th and the defending Colonial Cup champs on Sunday, January 9th. Both Friday and Saturday’s games begin at 7:30 pm, while Sunday’s contest begins at 5:00 pm.
