MECHANICS 1ST SHUTOUT IN FRANCHISE HISTORY! 3-0 IN DANBURY!

March 26, 2005 - Danbury, CT – Rod Branch made 32 saves in net to record his first shutout of the season as the Motor City Mechanics dominated the Danbury Trashers in a 3-0 road victory. Rookie David Bonk lead the Mechanics with two goals and an assist, and captain Blair Manning netted three assists. This is the third consecutive win for Motor City and their ninth win in ten games.
Bonk opened the scoring early in the first period, drawing an assist from Manning to give the Mechanics a 1-0 advantage. Early in the second period, Bonk found the back of the net on the powerplay for his second of the night and a 2-0 Motor City lead. Four minutes later, Mike Burgoyne fired one in. Neither team scored again and the Mechanics held on for the 3-0 win.
The Mechanics continue on their road trip, playing in Elmira on Sunday. Motor City hockey returns to The Garage for the final home stand of the season. The Mechanics are home March 30th, April 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th. TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!
