MECHANICS FALL IN EASTERN ROAD TRIP

Fraser, MI – The Motor City Mechanics met Eastern Conference foes Elmira and Richmond for the first time last week. The Mechanics dropped two games in Elmira and one game in Richmond.
On Wednesday night, the Mechanics fought back from a 3-1 deficit when Jason Norrie and Wade Paterson notched power play goals. In the third period, the Jackals stormed ahead, tallying two more for the 5-3 win. In goal, Mike Fountain made 30 saves for the Mechanics. Blair Manning and Joe Burton each picked up two assists on the evening.
With the score tied at two, the Richmond Riverdogs picked up a late third period tally for a 3-2 win on Friday night. Burton and David Bonk were the goal scorers for the Mechanics and Rod Branch stopped 26 shots in net.
Down 1-0 after one period of play, Ryan Baker tied the game at one but the Jackals were able to fire two more past Fountain and the Mechanics dropped a 3-1 decision in New York. Fountain made 34 saves between the pipes for the Mechanics.
The Mechanics will look for their first victory on the road this coming weekend where they will face Quad City on Friday night and Muskegon on Saturday night. Sunday, November 21st, Motor City hockey returns to The Garage to face the Missouri River Otters.
November 21st will mark the very first Mechanics broadcast on 1310 AM WXDX. Fan favorite Karen Newman will perform the National Anthem and the first 1,000 fans will receive Thundersticks courtesy of C&G Newspapers and 106.7 The Drive. The Mechanics souvenir program will also be on sale for the first time this season on Sunday.
