The Exchange of Vows

4a
From this day forward
I will be here for you --
I will sing your joys,
cry your sorrows
and stand by your side
through whatever life
may bring your way.

From this day forward
through good times and bad --
I will live with you,
grow and change with you,
I will do all I can
to keep our marriage
strong and happy
and alive with possibilities.

From this day forward
I will cherish you --
I will look with joy
down the path of our tomorrows,
and find peace
and happiness knowing
we will walk it together
side by side,
heart to heart.

"Until I met you, marriage-type love was an abstract thing I only read about in poems, heard sung in romantic love songs, or read about in books; but when I met you I knew for the first time what it was to experience this type of love within my heart. You have made me a believer in the real thing, in the promise of a love that will last a lifetime. There is nothing more important to me in my life than your love; I value it above money, power or position. I rejoice in our love, and I promise to walk by your side with a constancy that only comes from unreserved commitment, and it is this commitment I make to you now as I take you as my husband/wife, from this day forward and so long as we both shall live."

4rr

I promise to be a true and faithful husband/wife and father/mother, always there to comfort you, rejoice with you and endure all the complexities of life that we will face together as a family in the years to come. My love for you and the children is pure and unshakable and I hereby commit myself to all of you from this day forth and forevermore."

I promise before God and these witnesses to be your loving and faithful (husband/wife) till death do us part.

I promise to love, respect and honor you, sharing your plans and interests, ideals and emotions, through all the trials and tribulations of life, as well as the joyous times, caring for you in lifelong commitment.

4xx
Once in his life, a man finds someone that becomes more than just a friend to him. The friendship blossoms and grows into a love that strengthens and supports. Painful burdens get easier to bear and happy moments stretch out and seem to last forever. Even when the relationship is stressed, Love holds strong. It wraps itself around two people and never lets go. It joins thier hearts and allows them each a piece of the other's life.

I'm happy to say I've found that friend. And as I look into your eyes now I can see how our love has grown. I don't know what the future holds for us, but I do know that the love that we share has brought us this far, and with God's help I know it will continue to grow. There will be hard times, but we'll get through them. There will be happy times and we'll rejoice together. Today our lives will join as our hearts have already done, and I promise to love and protect you for as long as God gives me breath.
