HOWARD AND JEAN WILSON

The Parents "Challenged" With Raising Me

Ron's Kik'n Home Page[TM] My parents are the greatest. They are both retired and are enjoying that style of life.

My mom stays busy around the house and with friends and of course doing things with dad. They are also very active in our church and are wonderful Christian people.

They especially enjoy going out fishing, but it's usually pretty hard on dad cause mom usually out fishes him.

My dads pride and joy is his wood shop where you can usaully find him putting something together made of wood. There is nothing he can't make out of wood. Some of his most known projects are his full size rocking horse with wood inlay design, fancy table top lazy susans, and toys for little tots. As you read this he is working on a bathroom vanity for my wife and I. This cabinet offers a special challenge because one side of the cabinet has a built in lazy susan instead of the standard cabinet door.

Life's Biggest Question

"What about you?" he asked. "who do you say I am?" Matthew 16:15

Today Jesus Stands before us, asking each of us this question. He asks it everyday.

In a way, it's like a wife asking her husband, "Do you love me?" Every day a husband exspresses an answer to that question.

Perhaps years ago you accepted Jesus as you'r personal savior and Lord. Perhape like Peter, you decided to follow him: you said,"Jesus is the Christ!

But today (and every day) he repeats the question. Answering it once for all doesn't answer it all at once.

perhapes today you are worried about something. Picture Jesus standing before you. "Now, again WHO do you say I am?" He asked with a smile. "Oh, yes,"say, "I'm forrgetting! You are the Christ. You control everything. Help me to learn to trust you." Only very slowly does Jesus become fully all that he is in our lives.

Perhapes someone has deeply hurt you, and you resist forgiving that person. "WHO do you say I am?" he repeats. Or perhapes you're confused as you face a hard decision. Or maybe you face a daughting project and worrie about it's outcome. Again he stands before you and ask, WHO do you say I am?" He repeats this question again and again.

Jesus never stops asking until we acknowledge his lordship with every fiber of our being. Each day we must answer him "Yes Jesus I Love You and will Trust in you"

Prayer

Today, Lord Jesus, may I trust you more deeply, follow you more completly, rest in you more sweetly. You are Lord and Christ. Be that in my life today. In your name, Amen.
