12-Year-Old Girl Charged with Rape

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) -- Police have charged a 12-year-old girl with sexually abusing a 9-year-old boy four times over a two-month period.

The incidents involved sexual intercourse and genital fondling and occurred in the boy's bedroom during December and January, Jefferson County Sheriff's Detective Mark D. DeVito said Friday.

Though no force was involved, the girl has been charged with first-degree rape and sexual assault charges because of the boy's age, DeVito said. He refused to release how the children knew each other, but added that they were not related.

The boy's parents were unaware of the incidents until the youth told them, DeVito said. The parents then sought an investigation

Mother of Five Charged in Teen Sex Case

MINNESOTA -- The mother of a 13-year-old boy who was allegedly abused by a juvenile detention center cook filed a civil lawsuit Friday against the worker, Ramsey County and the company that operates the detention center in southwestern Minnesota.

Ms. Sharon S., was charged in September with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. She allegedly had sex with three boys ages 13 and 14 and gave them and other boys cigarettes and marijuana.

Attorney John Murrin said Pinnacle Programs, the operator of the detention center in Rock County, was negligent because it did not provide training and supervision of employees to prevent the abuse. The suit also claims Ms. S. and Pinnacle Programs violated the boy's rights under Minnesota's Human Rights Act.

The boy was placed in the treatment center by the Ramsey County Juvenile Court. The lawsuit says the county didn't adequately investigate or supervise centers that, like Pinnacle, were given contracts to treat juvenile offenders.

"The state government is contracting traditionally state corrections to private entrepreneurs," Murrin said. "They are not trained at the same level of safety, caution and protection as the state."

Ms. S., the mother of five, said she did not know about the lawsuit and had not seen a copy of the complaint.

"It's a bunch of s---. My husband says those kids can go to hell," Ms. S. said.

According to Maurice Crowley, owner and director of Pinnacle Programs, treatment center administrators learned of the allegations when a staff member intercepted a note one boy was passing to another before a group therapy session.

Ms. S. was screened before being hired at Pinnacle and had no prior criminal record.

The suit seeks more than $50,000 in damages

Woman Is Charged In Rape of Boy, 12.

SPOTSYLVANIA - Authorities have charged a 29-year-old county woman with raping a 12-year-old boy after the woman's ex-boyfriend found her with the child in her car in a secluded area.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office reported that the suspect, Deanna L., contacted police Jan. 8 to report that she had been raped by a former boyfriend.

But the investigation alleged otherwise. Deanna L. was alleged to have picked up the 12-year-old boy from his home and driven him to a secluded site less than a mile away late Thursday night, said Capt. Patricia Sullins, sheriff's spokeswoman.

She said after the boy left the car, the woman had sex with the ex-boyfriend in an effort to dissuade him from telling police about the incident with the child.

The child and the former boyfriend reported the alleged assault to the child's mother, police said.

Police Find Missing British Boy

SANFORD, FL (UPI) _ A 33-year-old British woman who disappeared in Florida with her son's 14-year-old best friend has been arrested at Tavernier in the Florida Keys. Tracy W. is charged with lewd and lascivious assault on a child. She and Sean K. flew to Sanford on a charter flight from London on July 15 and disappeared. The boy called home to let his parents know he was fine and authorities traced the call to a Tavernier condominium.

Monroe County Sheriffs' spokesperson Becky Herrin said when they arrived at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Sean answered the door because Tracy W. was naked. Herrin said Tracy W. admitted having sex with the teen several times. He has been placed in state custody.

They told police they spent a few days at different Daytona Beach motels before taking a bus to the Keys. Authorities may return Tracy W. to England to face interference with child custody charges instead of prosecuting her here. Tracy W. is married and has three children.

The case is making front-page headlines in England where the London Sun had offered a $1,000 reward to whoever locates the pair. At least four London papers have sent correspondents to central Florida to follow the case.

British authorities say Tracy W. packed her clothes and withdrew $5,000 from a family bank account before leaving her home in Nottingham.

She picked up Sean, telling his family she would give him a ride to school. The boy's mother first became suspicious when she discovered some of her son's clothes were missing.

California Woman Again Pregnant by Foster Son

ANTIOCH, CALIFORNIA - A woman ordered to stay away from her former foster son after having the boy's child is again pregnant by the 17-year-old.

C.W. says she and the boy love each other and she should not be punished for their relationship. She was 27 and the foster child 14 when they began having sex.

She gave birth to a boy last year while serving an eight-month jail term for unlawful sexual intercourse.

In Wednesday's Contra Costa Times, C.W. said she loved the boy. "I just want everyone to know that I am not a child molester."

The boy told a probation officer he wants to live with C.W. and raise their children, according to court records. The probation officer said the boy's father, who lives in Santa Cruz, supports the relationship because he "wants his son to be happy."

Sixth-Grade Teacher Faces Seven Years
By ERIN VAN BRONKHORST Associated Press Writer

BURIEN, WASHINGTON -- The little boy was an extraordinary artist, the teacher thought.

Mary L. appreciated all her pupils at Shorewood Elementary School, but this second-grader was special. She bought him art supplies and introduced him to the piano. Over the years, the bond grew.

``There was a respect, an insight, a spirit, an understanding between us that grew over time,'' Mrs. L. told The Seattle Times recently.

By the time the boy was 13, teacher and student were having sex.

In May, just before the boy's 14th birthday, Mrs. L. gave birth to his child.

Last week, the 35-year-old Mrs. L. pleaded guilty to rape of a child. She could get up to seven years in prison at sentencing Aug. 29.

Her eyes red and her face drawn, Mrs. L. was led off to jail to await her punishment, though her life is already in ruins.

Her husband, who helped blow the lid off the affair after finding letters from his wife to the boy, has filed for divorce and taken their four children to live with him in Alaska.

Lawyers: Coach Pregnant in Sex Case

FORT MYERS, FL (AP) -- A former high school tennis coach charged with having sex with a 16-year-old student is pregnant as a result of their monthlong affair, their lawyers said.

K.R., 27, was charged last week with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a felony carrying a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

She was a teaching assistant and assistant girls tennis coach at Estero High School south of Fort Myers. Her contract expired in June.

According to a Sheriff's Office report, K.R. and the 16-year-old said they had sex 20 times from early July to Aug. 15. The youth's name was not released.

K.R.'s attorney said she shouldn't have been arrested. And now that she's pregnant "the media and the law enforcement should just back off and let them deal with their family issues."
