George L. Vanderbossche, MA, LLP

George Vanderbossche was formally trained to work with sexual offense and sexually deviant behaviors in the Adolescent Sexual Abuser Program at The Children's Center in Detroit, Michigan. He has worked closely and trained under senior clinician Matthew Rosenberg, MSW, CSW. His specialty areas include:

George has a firm yet humanistic style of working with clients. He works from the perspective that empathy and supportive confrontation are crucial to creating productive change in clients. He combines humanistic values with cognitive, behavioral, and Jungian analytic theoretical frameworks.

George graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in psychology. He completed his graduate training at Center for Humanistic Studies where he received a Master of Arts degree in Clinical and Humanistic Psychology.

He currently works as a clinician in the Adolescent Sexual Abuser Program at The Children's Center of Wayne County. George has over 6000 hours of direct experience working with children and families of children who have been charged with sexual offenses or acts of violence. He also is an clinical associate at Rosenberg & Associates, in Southfield, Michigan, and he conducts phone and online consultation for Rosenberg & Associates.

His interests include research and writing, community psychology, forensic aspects of sexual and violent crimes, men's roles and development, and youth violence. George has conducted seminars on juvenile delinquency, juvenile violence and aggression, and the psychology of men and masculine development. His work has been published in The Horizon Newsletter on Sexual Abuse & Deviancy and Passages.
