dc TALK's SUPERNATURAL CERTIFIED GOLD!

"The Supernatural Experience" Continues as Sales Grow and Concerts Amass Huge Crowds

Phoenix, AZ. - While performing before a crowd of 9,000 during "The Supernatural Experience" tour, platinum-selling, Grammy-winning, ForeFront/Virgin group dc Talk received RIAA gold-certified plaques commemorating sales in excess of 500,000 for their most recent hit album, Supernatural. Upon its release in Fall '98, Supernatural debuted at #4 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart in October, selling more than 106,000 copies in one week. To date, Supernatural is dc Talk's fastest-selling album in a catalog already filled with such groundbreaking releases as Free At Last (platinum) and Jesus Freak (platinum plus), and the project has already garnered a Grammy nomination and several Dove Award nominations and features chart-topping hits like, "Into Jesus," "My Friend (So Long)," and the latest single, "Consume Me." dc Talk is in the middle of the first leg of their nationwide, 65-city tour, "The Supernatural Experience," which kicked off January 28 and will run non-stop into May. The tour has landed in the top 15 of Amusement Business magazine's highest-grossing shows. Each show has seen huge crowds, even selling out prestigious markets such as Los Angeles and Atlanta. The Dallas show was performed in front of over 10,000 people. dc Talk's two previous tours have each drawn total crowds of nearly one million, enough to have earned the group numerous Top 20 monthly positions in Pollstar magazine's top-grossing concert sales chart. "We are so proud of dc Talk and this most recent accomplishment," says ForeFront Senior Vice President Greg Ham. "I think this is their best album to date and the consumers seem to agree. We have already seen sales soar in the tour markets three weeks after the concert and anticipate that 'The Supernatural Experience' will continue to drive people to stores." Guests on The Supernatural Experience with dc Talk include Gotee recording artist Jennifer Knapp and Five Minute Walk swing band The W's. Both artists are nominated for 1999 Dove Awards and making strong inroads at Christian radio and retail.
