IMPORTANT POINTS AT TEST AREA
- RECOMMENDED OPERATING PROCEDURES
- ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD DOCKING, IF IN DOUBT TRY HANDSOCKETING THE DEVICE. DURING HANDSOCKET PROCEDURE, IF THE DEVICE NEEDS TO BE IN HIGH TEMP, BE SURE TO SOAK IT FIRST BEFORE TESTING
- IF IT STILL FAILS, TRY REPLACING THE LOADBOARD.
- IF IT STILL FAILS, TRY RECALIBRATING. IF THE PINS ON CALS ARE THE ONES FAILING DURING TESTS, REPLACE THEM.
- IF IT STILL FAILS, GO TO THE PROGRAM AND FIND THE FAILING PATTERN. IDENTIFY THE INPUT AND THE OUTPUT OF THE FAILING PATH. DIAGNOSE THEN REPLACE PINCARDS WHICH CAUSES THE FAIL
- TYPICAL FUNCTIONAL BACKGROUND
- FUNCTIONAL TESTING IS A TEST RUN TO EVERY DEVICE SO AS TO TEST IF THE SAID DEVICE OPERATES ACCORDINGLY. WE COMMONNLY DO FUNCTIONAL TESTING IN OUR DAILY LIVES, SAY IF WE BUY A NEW TV, WE WANT TO TEST IF IT WORKS PROPERLY, WE TRY TO CHECK IF IT POWERS ON, IF IT CAN GET CHANNEL 2, ETC...
- TYPICAL FUNCTIONAL TESTING IS THAT YOU HAVE AN INPUT PIN WHERE YOU FEED YOUR SIGNAL, AND AN OUTPUT PIN WHERE YOU EXPECT THAT SIGNAL TO COME OUT.
- FUNCTIONAL PROBLEMS
- MAKE SURE THAT YOUR AUTO CALIBRATIONS ARE GOOD OTHERWISE YOU WOULD HAVE SERIUOS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, WITH GOOD CALIBRATIONS AND STILL DEVICE IS FAILING, CHECK THE FOLLOWING.
- CHANGE THE LOADBOARD, USE DIAG LOADBOARD IF NECESSARY ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE.
- CHECK THE CONTACTOR
- ABOUT DC TEST
- DC TEST ARE ROUTINES IN OUR PROGRAMS TO CHECK THE DC PARAMETERS OF THE DEVICE. DC PARAMETERS SUCH AS Vol(VOLTAGE OUTPUT, ETC...DC TEST COULD BE VIEWED LIKE A WATER PIPE, YOU FEED A SPECIFIC AMOUNT OF WATER AT A SAY 1 LITER THEN MEASURE THE AMOUNT SEEN ON THE OTHER END. 1 LITER MINUS THE AMOUNT SEEN AT THE OTHER END IS THE LEAKAGE IN THE PIPE. IF THIS LEAKAGE IS VERY SMALL THEN I CAN SAY THAT THE PIPE IS OK, IF THE LEAKAGE IS GREAT THEN I SAY THE PIPE IS BAD. WITH RESPECT TO THE ACTUAL TEST OF THE PIPE IS A DEVICE PIN. THE AMOUNT OF WATER FED IS THE INPUT VOLTAGE/CURRENT, SO IF I FEED A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF VOLTAGE AT A PIN I MEASURE HOW MUCH I RECEIVED BY THE PIN; IF THE RECEIVED IS VERY LESS THEN IT'S FAIL, IF THE RECEIVED IS ALMOST EQUAL THEN ITS A PASS SUCH AS DC TESTS VARYING Vcc'S, RAMP TESTS AND HYSTERESIS TESTS.
- DC FAILURES
- Such as Vol, Voh, Iil, Iih, etc....
Make sure that the DC autocal has passed before further evaluation, otherwise sure DC failure will result
- Verify open readings, remove device and verify if the failing pins still failing.
- If fails exist remove Contactor, verify again readings.
- If fail exist remove Loadboard, and verify.
- If fails still exist, its a pincard problem, replace pincard.(Check docking)
- If in case OPEN readings are passing try the following
- Restore the Calibration.
- Change Loadboard.
- Clean contactor or replace socket.
- Calibrate the PIN failing.
- AC TESTING
- Ac testing is a test routine done in the device to measure its timing characteristics. For DC testing we measure voltage levels for AC test we measure time. Basically, we measure the propagation delay from one pin to another. That is, if we have an input pin 1 and an ouput pin2 we measure the time for a signal put in PIN1 to go to PIN2.
- AC FAILURES-If it is an AC marginal failure
- Rerun AC cal
- Clean/Replace socket and the contactor.
- If still fail, rerun the golden unit(try another golden unit)
- Check the docking
- Run TMU diag
- Replace the loadboard
- Replace pin cards.
- Find the common pins
- Check or replace the failing pins x relays
- Check POGO pins if properly connected
- Check if the correct unit is in place.Replace to verify
- Check if the I/O 's +5v supply is ok
- Check the device's Vcc and the ground are ok
- Check the loadboard used is correct and ok, replace if not sure
- Verify all pincards
- Recalibrate
- Check Contactors/socket/docking
