How Christie Clark got her start...
Christie Clark got her start at the age of nine, when she performed in an
elementary school talent show. Clark knew that performing was her call in life,
and jumped in feet first. She got an agent, and appeared in a Mattel commercial and
followed that with a commercial for "Shera: Princess of Power" in 1983.
Clark began her run on Days of our Lives in 1986 as Carrie Brady. She acted on
the show until the producers decided that they wanted "Carrie" to mature. Clark left
in December of 1990 and in this time, she graduated
from high school, which was an accomplishment because she had been home-schooled for
three years. Clark returned to Days of Our Lives in November of 1992. She was more
mature, and even more beautiful. She moved the innocent Carrie Brady onto a new level as a
glamorous and beautiful businesswoman. Clark however sees some differences between her
character and her own personality. She says, "I'm a very giving person with my family
and close friends the same as 'Carrie', but Christie is much more wild than 'Carrie'."
Clark resides less than ten minutes away from NBC Studios where Days is taped with
three roommates, two cats (Tink and Leah) and one dog (Mr. Blond). Clark also lives
a busy life besides acting on Days of Our Lives. She kick-boxes at least three times
a week, and she also likes to snowboard on the slopes of California's mountains. When
Clark first started snowboarding, she could not find any fashionable clothes for women.
She decided to create a line called Monkeywench, which is "one of the first
companies to design snowboarding clothes just for women," Clark says. Through the years,
the line has expanded into not only snowboarding clothes, but shorts, sundresses,
t-shirts, skirts. The phone number to call is: 1-818-846-0833.
Clark has enjoyed her many years on Days. She has a special friendship and rapport
with every person on the set. Her role as Carrie is becoming like a second nature
to Clark. "I get particularly excited shooting scenes where the writing is strong
and the dialogue is realistic."
