SURVIVOR: MARQUESAS has arrived! In this fourth season of
the best reality series, 16 Americans are dumped on the island
of Nuku Hiva, part of the Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia.
Approximately 850 miles northeast of Tahiti, the setting is hoped
to bring back the flavor, and ratings, of the first season.
Visit this site weekly for reviews of each episode, predictions,
and other rants and raves. One might ask why do I bother?
The series is fun, that's why! It's not everyday you get to watch
a group of people stab each other in the back for one million
dollars. Besides, there are many lessons to be learned which
can be applied. Survivor is office politics at it's best, and worst.
The interaction of the contestants with each other is often very
amusing.
Survivor also shows how democracy is a joke. The best players
are usually eliminated by the worst. The weak band together in
mob-like alliances and rid themselves of strong individuals. I
must admit, I also just like watching these folks suffer, too. For
as the Mob votes off those most suited for a survival-situation,
they find themselves at the mercy of the Nature, whom Mark
Burnett calls "...the seventeenth contestant".
So pull up a chair, grab some popcorn, a frosty beverage, and
enjoy!
