We begin the show with the final moments of last week's episode, when Trump fires Theresa of Gold Rush. His reasons were she showed poor judgment in not bringing Charmaine back to the boardroom, as she was responsible for the awful comedian, and Trump didn't care for Theresa's overall concept. We then watch as Lenny and Tarek (is he a Vulcan?) return to the loft. Gold Rush is having a late dinner, so it's up to Brent of Synergy to greet the boardroom survivors. When asked why Theresa was canned, the first response was that she failed to bring back Charmaine. This sends Charmaine into a tizz, and she retreats to her bed for a good cry.
All are gathered the next morning in the lobby of Trump Towers where King Donald, Princess Ivanka, and Viceroy George greet our hapless job-seekers. Two execs from the Post cereal company are in tow as Trump explains how America spends 6 billion a year on cereal. The assignment this episode is to create bill- boards for Post's latest cereal creation, Grape Nuts Trail Mix Crunch. Charmaine steps up to be Project Manager for Gold Rush, to redeem herself, and Tammy is PM for Synergy.
Trump's message of golden wisdom for the week is Keep It Simple, Stupid! He explains that in advertising, you only have the attention of the consumer for a brief moment, so your message must be concise, to the point, and a grabber!
Synergy begins it's skull session with devising a theme for their billboard. Brent suggests a diet/weight-loss theme, but this is shot down by Tammy. She wants something more original. They settle on a 'next-generation' theme of a father and daughter sharing a bowl of cereal. Brent volunteers to do the presentation, since being an attorney, he regularly engages in public speaking. Tammy shoots down that idea and opts instead for Sean and herself to do the presenting. She argues that Brent's appearance is not the image they want to convey for their theme. He is naturally pissed off with this decision. Even Princess Ivanka is incredulous with Synergy's scheme to sideline Brent.
Over at Gold Rush, several boxes of the new cereal are consumed. Bryce hits on the idea of an image of a person chugging down a stream of cereal from a raised box. Charmaine is satisfied and the team then breaks down the various tasks for each to do. Viceroy George is impressed with Charmaine's management skill.
Both teams send members out to the street in search of models for their ads. Sean recruits a young lady to portray the daughter, Allie finds a 44 year old man to be the father. Tarek of Gold Rush finds their model, a young lady with a girl- next-door look, almost immediately. He offers her $200 and a free sports outfit. Amazingly, she accepts. As photos are being taken, other team members work on the actual design and layout of the ads. Andrea takes the point for Synergy's ad, with Brent standing behind her offering suggestions every ten seconds. He is miffed that no one is accepting him or his ideas. Both photo shoots go well and the two teams wrap up the designs of their billboards. When seeing their photos and the ad, Bryce begins to back-peddle, telling Charmaine that they should scrap the whole plan and just go with a picture of several empty boxes. Charmaine is irked by this and decides to go with what they have.
As dawn approaches, Gold Rush once again earns the Early Bird Award for get- ting out the door by 6:30AM. Synergy is almost ready by 7AM except for Brent. He insists on ironing his pants and scampers about getting dressed. Andrea calls him out for his tardiness. They argue and trade insults. Andrea comes out on top, slamming Brent for making $50,000 a year whereas she is worth millions.
The scene shifts to corporate HQ for Post as the Trump-copter arrives carrying Donald. Both teams are assembled as well as Princess Ivanka, Viceroy George, and the two Post execs. Both banners are unfurled. Donald thinks both look good and then questions each on their concepts. Gold Rush explains that theirs is focused on the image of an attractive, health-conscious woman, excited to be 'guzzling' the new cereal. Donald asks them why they have a baby carriage in their midst? Charmaine answers that it is to signify the new member of the Post cereal family as she hands out birth-announced cards to everyone. Tammy then explains Synergy's concept of a father and daughter sharing the new cereal. That there is now, FINALLY, a cereal for everyone! Donald asks about the man in the ad, if he's the girl's boyfriend? Tammy replies that he is her father. Donald does not think the guy is old enough. Synergy then attempts to move on to their slide presentation. Sean begins with his script, but blows it completely. After a few minutes of stuttering and fumbles, Trump cuts him off. Trump then turns to the Post execs for their opinion. They prefer Gold Rush's ad, as it is cleaner, simpler, with less word and more image. They explain that someone would have to be stuck in traffic to read all the busy text of Synergy's ad. Donald agrees and Gold Rush is declared the victor. For their reward, Gold Rush earns a cooking lesson with Chef Jean George, who owns several restaurants, including one in Trump International Hotel. Synergy must appear in the boardroom tonight, where some- one WILL BE FIRED!
Gold Rush arrives at Trump International and meets Chef Jean George. He quick- ly puts them to work doing various things in his kitchen. The highlight of all of this is when Lenny insists on adding his own signature to a dish with an extra garnish of cayenne pepper. They sit and dine with Chef Jean as he tells them all how successful he is. Back at the loft, Synergy starts sharpening their knives. Sean, Allie and Roxanne share a hug in Sean's bed as they consider how much of today's defeat was their fault. Tammy and Andrea discuss their strategy on how to shift the emphasis as to why they loss to why Brent needs to go. Brent tells Lenny and Tarek that he's not worried about the boardroom. Save him his place for dinner because he WILL BE BACK!
At the boardroom, Viceroy George is the first to dissect Synergy's loss with the overly complicated ad. Drivers will only see the billboard for a few seconds at most, so the message must be very simple and striking. Trump says that he liked both ads though he agrees that Gold Rush's was better and more practical. He starts going around the table getting opinions on Tammy's leadership for the task. Everyone sings her praises, everyone except for Brent. He attacks her for not allowing him to do the presentation and for just stinking in general. Trump buys Tammy's explanation for why she chose Sean to do the presentation over Brent, and acknowledges that Sean did a lousy job. Trump takes Brent to task for not understanding how important appearance is in presenting certain products. Brent continues to be aggressive as Andrea and other members attack him on his inability to work with them as a team player, and for his overall boorish behavior. Princess Ivanka throws in her kiss of death, telling Brent that he could have been critical of Tammy's leadership in a more professional manner than offending her personally. The Donald has heard enough. He ends all debate and tells Brent that he's been a disruptive influence from Day One. He also takes Brent to task on his attack on Andrea, and reminds Brent that she has earned a lot of money on her own, which is Donald's way of keeping score. Trump doesn't want to waste anymore time with conferences and bringing people back in for more discussion. He fires Brent on the spot! The rest of Synergy smirks in glee. Brent is humiliated one last time as he exits the building and boards the waiting cab. He rails and rants about how stupid his team mates are and hopes they all get fired. Back at the boardroom, Trump is satisfied with his decision. Ivanka and George agree.
