I believe it has been around 1 year and 7 months since I started collecting fansubs! Here is my growing list of fansubs!! What is a fansub? Fansubs are Anime subtitled by fans, so other fans can watch the Anime that never came to America. The grading scale is:
A+/- : Very good tape. It has practically nothing wrong with it.
B+/- : Overall good quality, most tapes will be like this.
C+/- : Not well recorded. Normally they have some color bleeding, and a little bar that bends the picture.
D+/- : Not very good at all. All of my EP tapes will be marked this automatically. The screen is shakey and the color will bleed occationally.
F : Not worth the time, or money. These are few, but trecherous. Keep your distance!
There are different sub-titlers of Anime. Some of them are: Nippon Golden Network(NGN)- a Hawiian translating network, Pearl- a Chinese subbing network that puts subtitles in English and Chinese(note that it is Chinese, not Japanese. There is a BIG difference!!), and Anime Labs- they sell their fansubs. One other that I will be familiar with soon is Pulp Anime, I don't know their stats. Any tapes marked as RAW are in pure Japanese, with NO subtitles.
Right now Ramza and I are working as partners in a subtitling production called "RZ Productions". I just bought a Genlock, and we plan on releasing all of the best Dragonball Z episodes, including those that have never been subbed! Right now I am done with DBZ 192-199, and I am going to apply the subtitles as soon as the Genlock arrives. Our future projects will include DBZ 268-275, and most likely the end of the Cell saga as well(Depending on if I can get a high quality copy). Visit the RZ Productions page Here.
