The Detroit Area Independent Artists' Web Ring |
P.S. -- My name is Elaine, and I'm a poet. You can find my website in the ring, or go directly to Also, I must acknowledge my friend Jay who knew where this webring got its name! |
Welcome! This page is the home of the I'm From Detroit! Web Ring. Beginning 15 March 1999, this page has a new, easy to remember URL: http://start.at/detroit The I'm From Detroit! Web Ring is intended to help foster a sense of community among Detroit area artists of all genres by facilitating travel between web sites devoted to the many facets of creativity one can find in and around our fair city. Sites that feature any artist(s) of any genre, and sites that feature venues for these artists, are encouraged to join the ring. This would include, for example: |
|||
Performance Artists Art Festivals TV Shows Designers |
Musicians Theaters & Theater Groups Publications |
Photographers Writers Painters Studios |
||
I should clarify, of course, that "Detroit Area" means pretty much all of Southeastern Michigan, including Ann Arbor. If you say you're from Detroit, I probably won't argue with you. "Independent" is also a subjective term, as is "Artist". If you have any questions, you can email me and ask!I do want to clarify that Detroit art should be the main, permanent focus of your website, not just an appendage. Visit some of the sites that are already in the ring to get a feel for what it's about. But if you don't see anything like yours, it may be because your site is precisely what the ring is missing! For more information about the concept of webrings generally, please visit www.webring.org. |
What you see below
is the "html fragment" that all ring sites must place somewhere on their ring. This allows visitors to navigate the ring. Sites in this ring are ordered randomly and rearranged every so often, so the "next" and "previous" links aren't permanent relationships. Click on "List sites" to see all the sites that are currently in the ring, or choose one of the other options to begin exploring!
